I do not understand why Pickett is so intent on killing Sawyer. He did not shoot Colleen, so I cannot buy revenge for Colleen as the reason behind Pickett's hatred.

Pickett's being a child (10 years old), he lost someone very close to him and instead of diving into the lake of maturity he exercises his rights to "you killed my wife , now I will kill Sawyer (Kate's too cute to kill)"
