| Could it be the reason the others want children is to speak/listen to Jacob? It seemed like Ben was just "phoning it in" when he went to meet Jacob, so now that he is older he can no longer communicate with Jacob, yet Walt tells Locke what to do amongst the other voices. So why would a young Ben end up being the leader over Richard? |

| possible....tho i still reckon the reason they want children is simply because they cant have any on-island...and therefor need to keep recruiting (or more acurately, stealing) them.....and walt, i imagine, is a manifestation of either Jacob or smokey or the island (or all 3), much like boone was because it's someone Locke would recognise and trust, if u remember back in season 1 Locke and Walt where very close....and why is richard letting ben lead?...**** knows, but i'd guess that much like John or Walt he was, at some point at least, special and they trusted in him....i get your drift, but i think Locke's the key more than the kids |
