| first time posting on any LOST forum so please don't tear me apart! I read somewhere that the date for this last episode (TTLG) is December 23, 2004. That would be 3 days before the 2004 tsunami and previously I had read somewhere that the tsunami would be in the story...so I am wondering if maybe the "rescue" is going to be affected by the tsunami? I just think it's interesting to note that the date is so close to Dec. 26. Any thoughts...? |

| I remember this being mentioned before. It is interesting, but I think we were sort of guessing that the island is not in the Indian Ocean so would not be directly affected. Could it be indirectly affected? Try a search and see what was said before. I can't remember right now. BTW, Welcome!

| I dont think the writers could possibly use the tsunami, in any part of the show. The death of a hundred thousand people should not be made light of in a TV show. It would be cool if they did use it, to tie in the timeline, but i could imagine the uproar it would cause. |

| If the tsunami is used then we could at least have a sense of where the island is. (Then we would know it is not the magnetic South Pole!!) It would be a bit silly to have real world events sometimes, and not others. I think if there is anyting in the plot that "causes" the tsunami that would be taking things WAY to far. I really hope they have better taste then to use it in that way. It would be a pretty crazy way to start season 4. |

| Like a certain freighter being called in to help deal with the crisis and delaying the rescue of Losties? |

| This is just a tv show, guys. I don't see them trying to mimic what happened "in reality" on those days. But then again they did mention the Red Sox winning the World Series. I think those 2 events are on 2 differennt levels, even for New Englanders, whether they like it or not... That being said, I'm a HUGE baseball fan... Television, by all means, is usually an escape from reality. For them to mix the two would be a big mistake, in my opinion. Not to mention, if they do use the tsunami in 2004, they're really putting themselves on a tight timeline. As we've seen, these writers like to have as many options as possible. They seem to be writing themselves out of holes on a regular basis. They've admitted to finally being able to wrap things up. That, to me, says they were just breezing along until they HAD to start ending this thing...

| +1 thats why ive been thinking about the 3 years-3 season left stuff. maybe they will use the tsunami, i can see how it mite affect ppl tho. altho maybe they'll use it as like a way to destroy the island!! lol big crazy evil corporations "the bad guys" are out to destroy the island and they create or manufacture the tsunami story as a way of covering up the secret events! lol conspiracies ftw lol i actualy really like this now, maybe they blow up a huge bomb on the island and a huge tidal wave occurs, if dharma/widmore/whoever else, are as powerful as they seem then they could fabricate a news story as a cover up |

| don't forget the tsunami. the island should reveal it's connection to it by this season's finale, if it stays consistent with the time line. the 20004 tsunami is DEFINITELY going to be part of the storyline ... bank on it, the timing is too coincidental. |

| The island is far too large to be destroyed by the '04 tsunami, but excellent point about the Black Rock being in the middle of the island DUE TO a tsunami...that just clicked in my mind and I had a "duhh!!" moment. |
