| OK, so after responding to someone else's post, I came up with a theory that I'm throwing out there. The losties returned to a world where things that were "wrong" with the world they left are now corrected. OR they travelled back in time and were able to correct things themselves. There are many things that can be taken multiple ways, but when put together, you get 2 possibilities. 1 - Jack's downward spiral has caused him to forge prescriptions. He mentioned his father as a reference to how messed up he was, not literally. Kate is married to Sawyer. She had her past crimes erased. 2 - Things have corrected. Christian is alive, and is now running the entire hospital. Jack forged the prescription, and snapped at the pharmasist because he doesn't want his dad to know about his addiction. Sawyer is dead, and was in the coffin (seems most likely based on the newspaper clipping). Also why Jack would expect Kate to show up, but based on how cold Sawyer has been treating Kate, explains why she wouldn't. Kate's old boyfriend is alive, and they're married. This 'better' world would be reason enough for Kate to not want to go back to the island. Might be what they had been lying about all these years? Thoughts??? --Fish |

| i sort of had the feeling that they traveled to the past and when kate said "i gotta go, he's gonna wonder where i am"....im thinking what if this is before she blew up her dad? what if she's still scared of her father and he has her on a lock down. Also I think Christian may be alive. But who was in the coffin? could it be one of the losties? Maybe Michael or John or Ben. When JAck said "i thought u might be at the funeral" to kate, she replied "why woudl i be there?" What if it was Ben. Any thoughts? |

I thought it was a great episode... we now know they get off the island somehow.. but something is not right with the world they return to.. I think that's a perfect cliffhanger.

It would be like if this were 1980 and we were in the building for Ewing Oil... and we hear a gunshot.. and a scream. D A L L A S Who got shot? Was it JR? Bobby? Doesn't matter.. tune back next season. Who screamed? Doesn't matter.. tune back next season. When you put a cliffhanger together.. playing horse**** guessing games gets you laughed at and creates a fundamental misunderstanding of its purpose. Its supposed to setup next season.. not have to wait until next season to find out what the cliffhanger actually was. There was absolutely no reason.. none.. except pure stupidity.. for it to be in any way mysterious what was going on at the end of that episode. It was being vague for no real reason. Jack all messed up about getting back for some reason only he knows(but for which we don't) is pure bull****. They had a chance to really create a cliffhanger that would hopefully hold people the 8 months until next season.. they didn't. A week from now nobody will care.

| I believe that watching is not enough to consider yourself any kind of student of the show and writting of the TV series LOST. You also have to listen. For example when NAOMI arrives on the island and is lucid enough to ask who are you? Hugo replies that they are survivors of the Oceanic flight 815, to which Naomi replies thats impossible they found the airplane at the bottom of the ocean and the passengers were all dead. This is just one example. The other is when in the season finale ending Jack cries out to Kate by the LA airport "Im sick of the Lies, I cant do it anymore" We made a mistake" We should never have left the island. Another clue lies in that the ship Naomi came from waiting off shore is not related to any of Penelope's organized seaches. We know this when Charlie recieves Penelope's transmision. In this alternate world in which Jack has become a suicidal, drug addict and Kate is not a fugitive anymore she sees no reason to return to the island since her life in this alternate world is much better than what she was running from prior to the crash. Dont forget Desmond's flashbacks after the destruction of the hatch. Desmond's experience wtih the alternating timeline definately raises the question of alternate conclusions and alternate realities that occur with the choices one makes on or off the island. So the fact that Jack's dad may still be alive and that Jack returns to an alternate universe where none of the sacrifices and experiences that made him who he was prior to the crash on the island are essentially driving him to self destruction and maddness is not at all implausible or so hard to accept considering all the evidence that points in that direction. So I think it is very possible that Christian Shephard is alive in this world that Jack was rescued to along with Kate and who knows possibly even Ben |
