Default Charlie's suicide

Just a quick question about charlie's death... Why didn't he walk through the door before closing it? In that situation I would be more worried about getting out of the room and saving myself than maintaining airpressure/saving desmond. THEN maybe I would close the door.

I think that was the only way to seal of the water that would've flooded the station. I don't think that they could of held the door closed since the water pressure would be to great and would flood the station in seconds

I think he stayed behind and died because thats what had to happen in order for Clare and the baby to get rescued. If he would of lived it would of thrown off Desmond's premonition and he didnt want to chance it wouldnt happen.

Did the door open outward or inward? Inward you have a point.. outward even a couple of seconds make a huge difference. If the door isn't shut by the time the water reaches the bottom of the door.. you most likely can't physically shut it due to the pressure water exterts.

it opened away from the room he was in. Towards the dock so from Des's point, it would be inward.
