Rousseaus ship

danniele claims she got on the island when her research ship got washed ashore. she also says that there was ateam of them. she says there was six of them (lost season 1 epsiode 23). what i wana kno and what is weird is where is this ship we havent ever seen it. a ship that carried siz people and research equipment has to be a fairly good size so where is the ship.......................................any thoughts............................

It could have crashed on the rocks or something, there's always an explaination.

What I find wierd is that she's been on the show so long without a flashback or back story. Makes me think there is something fishy with her.

Plus, Danielle said she crashed on the island when Alex was two weeks old. The boat must have made it to shore because she could not have swam very far with a newborn. Perhaps in a lifeboat? Baby the island brought the boat because the island wanted the baby.

I'm with rossvaldo. There must be something we're not being told about her that is pretty significant. Anyone on Lost who has made more than 3 appearances has had a flashback (don't take that literally). It's not as if she's a minor character. She's saved and informed our arses on several occasions.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Danielle had Alex after she got to the island. Then she was stolen a week later.

i seem to remember that too. but i think swimming ashore when you're about to give birth wouldn't be particularly easy, either. (although you'd have pretty good buoyancy, har-har!).

at 7 months pregnant now I couln't swim two feet if someone gave me money. It's too awkward and hard. Maybe I would like float on my back or something...

I did not know she said anything on the show about WHEN she gave birth (before or after coming to the island). O Well... I miss alot of things.

I'm with you all -- I truly did expect to see Danielle have a flashback this season and when she did not, it made me question her backstory all the more. Something is up with her, she knows alot more than she lets on or is involved in some deeper scheme...

Maybe her crew used her like a log or barrel (since she was pregnant) and pushed her ashore. I joking of course...I don't want to offend any women out there!

The research ship is definately there I think. The losties just haven't seen it yet... it's a big island. They also didn't see the Flame, the pilons and the Barracks before season 3.

Danielle definitely said that she gave birth to Alex on the island about two months after arriving, after everyone else was dead. I can't find an image of it now, but I remember seeing a shipwreck marked on one of Danielle's maps (en Francais). She said it crashed into some rocks, so my impression is that the boat has sunk just off the coast, and the crew only had to swim a few feet to the island.

I really hope they get to Rousseau's backstory in season 4. Maybe we'll know more about what it will be like once we've seen the finale, but I think opening next season with a Rousseau flashback could be cool.
