all of these posts like "john is jacob", "ben is jacob", "my sister's imaginary friend is jacob", etc need to remember the following from a podcast:

"We have not seen Jacob in a previous episode and won't until he is revealed"

so any speculation is going to be wrong, since there is no-one you can suggest that has not been seen yet.

my prediction is that jacob is jacob - think about it: it makes perfect sense. they have the same name, are the same age, and have the same characteristics!

consider that

A) the writers have not always been entirely truthfull

"not having seen Jacob" could refer to a matter of perception

right now I think it's Locke, who doesn't realize it yet, hence we really haven't seen Jacob, just the Locke personna, obviously this could apply to anyone else on the island also

Uhh... yeah... umm ben has been talking about jacob scince before any of the castaways even got there... soo... yeah... and we havent seen them yet... so that rules out alter egos, flashback characters, and any of the others... o yeah, you know, my real name, honestly is jacob... everyone calles me jake, butyou know, it could be me

Care to point out WHICH podcast that is in for verification? I thought that it was true and was later proven incorrect. (in another thread) Damon and Carlton were ASKED if we had seen Jacob in a prior eppisode and they dodged the question and never answered it. (in the podcast I referenced) I for one would like to hear them say it.

I do hope TPTB aren't lying about this, or anything, I think I'd lose a lot of respect for them if that were the case.

it is on spoilerfix on april 23rd, so i would reckon it's the april 20th podcast, but i haven't verified that.
