The Others are going to tape Kate saying I love you

This is what I think is going to happen next week. I think the whole Sawyer torture scene is just a ploy to get Kate to say I love you so they can tape it and play it back to Jack in order to torture him. What do you guys think? I was kinda disappointed that they used the polar bears instead of the "monster" That would have been cool because what if Locke entered the cave and saw the toy truck, dharma uniform, skeletons and then the monster appeared. I would think that maybe the Others serve up the children or anyone else for that matter as a sacrifice for the "monster" how cool would that have been?
