Not as creepy as how I felt when in the final episode of Season 1 the bearded boatman (MC Gainy) said just matter-of-factly, "We'll have to take the boy." That just floored me.

But I suspect the Others we saw this week (their feet anyway) are something seperate than the Boat Others.

Something like: the people who took Walt are more closely related to what the island is while the Others out there killing off members of the tail-end of the plane are people affected by the Island.

Sort of like slaves and masters.

They coul be a tribe that live on the island and learned to move quitely so the monsters or bears or boar don't find and kill them.

I agree. The bearded guy saying that they'll have to take the boy was the eeriest scene in the entire series.

I think that "the Others" are simply people who have been on the island a long time. That would make them the original inhabitants, IE the scientists who where planted there back in the early 80's.

I think there are different bands of Others, some evil, some not so evil. They've been engaged in tribal warefare for years.

I think the Others on the boat are the good Others. They don't have the resources to help everyone, but they will help children. Perhaps they can immunize children, but not adults?

I think that once the baby is old enough to be weened, the good Others will come for it.
