Desmond
"Desmond" is an old Irish language name which roughly translates
to "mystically handsome". It is drawn from a Celtic tale of a dark
haired mystical man who used to visit rural villages and seduce
local women. The tale goes that the man drew power from the Blarney
Stone found in the Desmond County. His conversation was considered
intoxicating and hypnotic leaving women powerless.

Numbers - Show Title
Book in the Bible.Lots of numbers and laws in it.

Exodus - Show Title
Book in the Bible. Moses leads Jews from Egypt.

Dharma
Dharma is a sanskrit word and a concept of eastern religions.
Simply explained, it is the way of the higher Truths, a lifestyle
that leads to minimum accumulation of karma and is therefore the
fastest path to personal liberation.

"I think hope is inside" - John Locke(From Lost)
Hope was the last thing in Pandora's box.

Turn of the Screw - Book on shelf in front of "Orientation" film
The Turn of the Screw became a favorite text of New Criticism.
The reader is challenged to determine if the protagonist,
a nameless governess, is reliably reporting events or instead
is some kind of neurotic with an overheated imagination.
The account lends itself to many different interpretations,
including those by Freudian psychologists and those trying
to determine who or what exactly is the nature of evil within
the story.

Tabula Rasa - Title of show
"blank slate"
In John Locke's philosophy, tabula rasa was the theory that the
(human) mind is at birth a "blank slate" without rules for
processing data, and that data is added and rules for processing
it formed solely by our sensory experiences. As understood by Locke,
tabula rasa meant that the mind of the individual was born "blank",
and it also emphasized the individual's freedom to author his or her
own soul.

Alvar Hanso
The Alvars are Hindu saints, followers of Lord Vishnu. They
sang in praise of Lord Vishnu; their compositions
are collectively know as the Naalayira Divyap Prabhandham.
The Divya Prabandham is the collective corpus of the passionate
hymns of the Alvar mystics (5th-8th centuries A.D.)
They have 108 temples
12 saints (Twelve main characters)
(See Dharma above)
Alvar means one who is "immersed" in the experience of God,
the omnipresent mysterious One. Tradition reckons 12 Alvars.
They come from all walks of life and all strata of society
and include in their ranks one woman.
