Thanks for the great screen shot. To me, the inside image looks like a white swan on a black background. Does anyone else see this?

Yeah, I think it is a swan, some people thought it was a snake, but it looks like a swan to me.

Yes, Creampop, they do seem to be different logos...I can't even tell if the inside lines are same. The shark logo is very dark and blurry - if I come across a clearer image, I'll post it.

| I think the fact that there is a logo at all on a great white shark is more important that the exact logo itself. Since it is similar to the Dharma, it could either be: an older logo a specialed version of the logo for the water department I think the implications of a logo imprinted on the shark is about the most interesting clue we've had since the discovery of the hatch. It means that everything on and around the island is somehow related to this mysterious Dharma group. And it appears to me that whatever they are/were doing; it's now out of control. Desmond is obviously not in touch with his bosses, or he would know more about getting a replacement. He doesn't appear to know about the crash, the survivors, or the fact that the world hasn't ended. Now, my bosses keep me in the dark, too; but not to that extent. If his job is resetting a 'doomsday clock' every 108 minutes; then he's got the world's worst job.

here's the best shark image i can muster (while playing with shadow/highlight in photoshop): Admin note: Image link deleted, exceded forum width. that logo on the shark bears a serious resemblance to the 'Montauk Project' logo in the theory that is currently doing the rounds.......no figure in the middle, just a line through it

Thanks, mr. wu. Well, it's close enough to the Dharma logo, so they must be related. I agree with Hal 9000 that the significance of a branded shark is crucial to what's going on on the island. And, if you recall the way the song "La Mer" was emphasized in season 1 and the cable that Sayid found, it really makes me want to pay a lot of attention to the sea surrounding the island.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dharma i put that link in spec as well, but then i looked into the wheel of dharma link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_dharma The rim of the hub is divided into two sides. One side is the White Path or Path of Bliss, and represents how souls may move upward to the World of Gods. The other side is the Dark Path, which represents how souls may move downward to the World of Hell. In the hub, the center of the wheel, a pig, snake, and rooster turn in a circle, each biting the tail of the next animal. The pig represents greed, desire, or attachment. The snake represents hatred and envy. The rooster represents ignorance or delusion. These are the evils which are responsible for the trapping of souls within the Six Realms. originally i thought it was a snake, but it could be a swan, although i don't know now....
