The easy way to tell if it was him or not would be to contact the other sites admins and have them look in the mysql table for what email address was tied to that time, only someone with that email account could access the registration URL to activate the account, see if they match, voila.

themisfitishere@yahoo.co.uk - from a forum you were banned from.

Now I know email is not totally secure, but someone would go to that length to spoof you months ago?

We can't let name-hijackers rule our lives, then we'd create a new fad! If somebody impersonates me, they should prepare for war. I'm not giving up my name for anything... why should the misfit?

I don't necessarly think he should give up the name, but if he wants to be rid of the drama associated with it then he should switch. If he wants to keep the name, he needs to be ready for threads such as these. I'm just playing "Devils Advocate"...So he understands why this thread is here...

Ok, here is my 2 cents. I was on the ABC boards when all the Misfit stuff was going on. That is what led me here to the Tailsection!! I had been over there for over a year and checked the boards daily like I do here. There was a guy that was mad at someone from the ABC board for trolling and flaming at his board at IMDB I think. So he came to ABC and started posting under the Misfit. He would post over and over and over etc......... The first 20 post would be Misfit post. It took almost 2 weeks to ban him. He finally came out and said, and proved that he was the Misfit. He would take the Misfit's real post and post them over and over. People were really upset. It was not the Misfit, I repeat it was not the Misfit!!!!!!! I think his name was Grimreaper or something, and he said why he was doing it. It all stopped after that.

I think you people are making a bid deal out of nothing. Doc has everything under control. The Misfit has been here for almost a week and he is not causing any problems. I think his theories are funny. If you dont like him, then dont read his post's. I also think it is very amusing how some people are complaing to get rid of him because he will be a problem but they are the ones making this a big deal right now, not him!

Sorry for the long winded post, but it just seems to be getting a little out of hand. Give the guy a break. Why should he have to change his name? I would do the same thing Misfit. Stay strong!!!!

fair enough, Ill get the IP address (if possible) from the admin of the other board and pass it off to the doc, if the netrange is the same there is no lying.
