Thumbs down LOST Charles "Chucky" Widmore & Spamalot - RichPundit

HMmmm TTSers:

enjoyed Spamalot with my wife and a few friends at our local Appleton PAC last night, and am somewhat bewildered for a couple of reasons.
  1. The show was much fun, but not the "lovingly ripped off from the motion picture" show as advertised ... at least not the Monty Python comedy I expected. It was more like a Mel Brooks musical rip-off of the very funny movie including with a loong, awkward focus on the "Jews". Our local Wisconsonians clapped and whistled wildly at the scene's closing peasant line: "Jews don't identify themselves in the presence of heavily armed Christians". "Run Away!". Spamalot did win the 2005 Tony Award for "Best Musical".
  2. More importantly relative to LOST, a LOST production crew including Ben needed to travel and shoot in London cuz actor Alan Dale, aka Charles "Chucky" Widmore, is in the London performance of Spamalot, and could not travel to Hawaii. London is where the incredible LOST scene in Widmore's penthouse hotel room was dramatically shot in which Ben pointedly tells Widmore that he "changed the rules", and that Ben was going to kill Penny as revenge.
SOooo, all through the goofy singing and dancing I kept wondering which part Chucky plays since most of our LOST collective psyche view him as the most evil one. Incredibly, Alan Dale Widmore plays the lead role of King Arthur!

"Run Away!" ... "it's only a flesh wound".

I'm totally "Chucked" - RichPundit
