Default Henry Gale?

My wife pointed out to me that Henry Gale is also the same name as Uncle Henry in the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy's last name was Gale. And if you recall Dorothy was going to go back to Kansas by riding on a hot air balloon, what "Henry Gale" on the show said he and his wife landed on the island on. Coincidence?

I have read that TVGUIDE says Micheal Emerson(Henry Gale) will return as a series regular next season. What could this mean?

That is F'ing hilarious man...nice catch! There are so many connections and relationships, it is rediculous to keep up.

There is no such thing as a LOST coincidence.

Question Henry Gale or Henry Gordon Gale??

We've been satisfied to believe that our boy Henry's character is named after Dorothy Gale's Uncle from Kansas, or at least I've been satisfied to believe so.

Heck, even Michael Emerson mentions the OZ connection in one of his interviews.

But my recent obsession with everything LOST inspired me to do a search and
Lo and Behold...
Henry Gale was a real live physicist!!!

died in 1942

Check it out:
http://www.aip.org/history/ead/chica...0_content.html

Papers/Records created by:

Gale, Henry Gordon, 1874-1942.
Short description of collection:

The papers of Henry Gordon Gale comprise 12.5 linear feet of personal and professional material, spanning the years 1889-1948. The materials document Gale's career as a physicist, from his time as a student in the early years of the University of Chicago, to his retirement from the Faculty of the Physics Department in 1940. The papers consist of professional and personal correspondence; notes, manuscripts, and reprints; and personal material such as photographs, biographical material, and documents from his Army service and university employment. The collection also includes some correspondence and personal material of his wife, Agnes Spofford Cook Gale.

There's a Wiki on him also.
Apparantly he was working on astro-physics!
