henry gale and hurley connection

not sure if anyone noticed this, i was rewatchin season 1, in hurley's first flashback episode after he wins the lottery and gets cursed with bad luck. There is a part in the mental ward when he goes to visit the numbers guy, there is a mechanic working on a light bulb that hurley yells at. This man looks exactly like henry gale. I may be wrong, but does this mean he couldn't have been on the island for that long?
