| I rented the "NBC Fall Preview" DVD, now available (for free) at Blockbuster Video, and I most enjoyed the pilot for "Life". It was fresh, intriguing, funny, suspenseful, well-cast; plus, it included some alt. rock music in several scenes which I really enjoyed! Damian Lewis (who plays Det. Charlie Crews) is an amazing actor in his own right, and he definitely brings the goods for this show. He combines several different emotions into one character, and yet they all click. He gives the impression of a man who is trying to preserve his sanity (after being locked-up for 12 years for a crime he didn't commit) by quoting lines from his favorite book "The Path to Zen" and by cracking jokes and appearing laid-back & easy-going. Yet, Lewis just as aptly shows a side to Crews who takes his job at being a good cop very seriously, and who is very intent upon tracking down the person/people responsible for setting him up to go to prison. | Damian Lewis is the best thing I have seen on network tv in years. He's a breath of fresh air, a remarkable actor,specially considering hes from the Uk and hes got the American accent down to a t.I love this show.And Adam Arkin works great as his friend//accountant. And he's not bad to look at either!!! |
