He's a cool guy Damian Lewis. I hope it works
out for him. I usually always like cop shows so
I might just have to give it a look.

Thumbs up "Life" is a home run!! :)

I rented the "NBC Fall Preview" DVD, now available (for free) at Blockbuster Video, and I most enjoyed the pilot for "Life". It was fresh, intriguing, funny, suspenseful, well-cast; plus, it included some alt. rock music in several scenes which I really enjoyed! Damian Lewis (who plays Det. Charlie Crews) is an amazing actor in his own right, and he definitely brings the goods for this show. He combines several different emotions into one character, and yet they all click. He gives the impression of a man who is trying to preserve his sanity (after being locked-up for 12 years for a crime he didn't commit) by quoting lines from his favorite book "The Path to Zen" and by cracking jokes and appearing laid-back & easy-going. Yet, Lewis just as aptly shows a side to Crews who takes his job at being a good cop very seriously, and who is very intent upon tracking down the person/people responsible for setting him up to go to prison. These two sides to his character make me want to continue to tune in, as I'll be excited to see which one rears its head from situation to situation. Personally, I loved the scenes in which we see Lewis kicking ass and/or being quietly intense - reminding me of why I loved him as Major Winters in Band of Brothers. Lewis is able to command one's attention with the most subtle of expressions or gestures - much like Steve McQueen or Gary Cooper. I also think that he and Sarah Shahi (as Lewis' partner, Dani Reese) had terrifc chemistry & I'll be watching for where their relationship may lead. If anything, they may be able to help each other deal with the skeletons in both of their closets. I hope people give "Life" a chance. I, for one, am obviously already a fan!

Created by filmmakers Rand Ravich and Far Shariat, Life is an interesting departure from the standard police procedural, giving us a character who may have been ‘de-habilitated' to some degree. Crews forces his way back onto the force and finds a skeptical department waiting for him, including a cautious partner played by Sarah Shahi. Robin Weigert plays the Lieutenant tasked with overseeing the controversial Crews.

I think it's a great show! I hope it succeeds. I just have a hard time with it and JourneyMan because they are on at 9:00 and I have to wake up at 4:00am for work.

So yeah, as much as I like the shows - I'm really struggling to keep my eyes open through them sometimes! But I don't want the time changed - they work perfectly with some of my other shows. (no time conflicts)

LOL I just have to not let myself relax too much when I'm watching Life and JourneyMan.
