Kevin McKidd stars in JourneymanIt looks like the clock has officially run out for fans of NBC's time travel drama Journeyman.  The network had until Tuesday to award a full-season pickup to the series, as they did for Chuck and Life a few weeks ago, but they neglected to do so.  Now that the deadline has passed, Journeyman only has two episodes left, which will be airing on December 17 and December 19.  Creator Kevin Falls recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly, dropping some hints about what fans can expect in the final two episodes, and whether or not there will be any closure for lead character Dan Vasser (Kevin McKidd).

So, when did the networks officially decide to let all intelligent, interesting and well-made TV reside only on cable channels?

I will really miss Journeyman. What a shame...

Maybe USA or TBS will see the viability of this show and pick it up like so many other shows that were cancelled before their prime on the major 3 channels

Journeyman has become the one must see show in our house this season. Everyone I know watches it and can't wait to talk about it on Tuesday mornings. It seems that all the intelligent shows are quickly replaced with another CSI or reality/game show. Just who are these Nielsen families and why can't they enjoy good TV. Maybe the networks need to realize that those of us that have money to spend with the advertisers are too busy to do Nielsen ratings. When shows like Journeyman get canceled you have to believe that there is a flaw in the system somewhere.

I get the impression that Nielsen households don't actually exist, or that there are only 9 of them (that number getting progressively smaller every time a great show gets fudged by its network).

And I don't intend to give up. We still have the fan campaign in the works, and we are now busy contacting Kevin Reilly at Fox about possibly taking the show (since it is a Fox production) - especially since he was fired from NBC for not working miracles and making it the top network. He may very well have an ear for the fans, and there is at least a chance that it could be picked up by Fox. It's not unheard of.

Whatever you do, don't give up. That only gives justification to NBC's miserable decisions.
