"Kevin and Jane McKidd"The British, the Scots and other Europeans have come.  Yes, more of the old world's finest and fairest have invaded, if not yet completely conquered, fall television.  Leading the pack as the central star of the established House is Hugh Laurie.  Then we have a fresh influx of imports for freshman fare including Damian Lewis on Life, Michelle Ryan on Bionic Woman, Sophia Myles on Moonlight and Kevin McKidd on Journeyman.  As regular headliners in their respective programs, stars like them have had little recourse but to uproot themselves and their significant others to the U.S., at least while their shows remain on the air.

Kevin McKidd and his young family have made such a move to sunny, amber-bathed Los Angeles, where they have chosen to put up roots for at least the next five years, while Kevin stars as the Journeyman.

I have no idea whether the comment above is positive or negative. Either way, every week I discover that I'm not super excited about the new episode of Journeyman, then I watch it and fall in love all over again. It's such a rich and complex drama with a fantastic long-term story. I realize it will probably get canceled, but I hope it has a nice ending at the end of this season .

I look forward to Mondays all week long just for Journeyman. It really is a unique slice of what television can (and should) be when a show has the imagination and drive to go beyond the cookie cutter premises of all the other programs around it.

well, this is not really a very unique nor original show. It is too similar to Quantum Leap to be labeled as "original". But regardless, I'm a big fan of the show. It was very well written and very well acted. Best show of this season and I look forward to see much more of this show. Keep up the awesome work. Hopefully it will get pick up by bigger public before it gets canceled...

Quantum Leap was similar to the Voyagers, which was similar to Time Tunnel, which was, no doubt, similar to something else before it. It was by no means original itself.

I'd call Journeyman "original" in the sense that at least there was a break of well over a decade before the concept showed back up on television, and they've taken it in a somewhat different direction with a very different feel. Compared to a host of look-alike crime dramas and reality tv garbage, yeah, it's pretty darn unique.

Journeyman is NOTHING like Quantum Leap other than the time travel aspect. He isn't jumping into other people's bodies - nor is he stuck anywhere with some hologram guiding him. Maybe a little like Leap in the fact that he is "fixing" problems in people's timelines... I don't know - I just get irked at the Quantum Leap comparisons.

I think it's much more in the realm of Butterfly Effect, Time Traveller's wife etc.

I enjoy this show very much and actually look forward to Mondays (and as a teacher, it's hard to look forward to Mondays!). No, the concept of time travel is not original, but the way the concept of time travel is presented is original. I enjoyed Quantum Leap and I enjoy Journeyman. I am completely hooked!
