| March 30, 2009 Hello fellow Rangers: I just wanted to let you all know that the Welcome Home to Charity Event is now less than 4 weeks away. We are getting people registered and are arranging for several things in LA including a meet and greet with several of the cast and crew, a special effects show and another activity still being worked on. The primary goal of the event is to raise money for military families and their children. The silent auction and hopefully online participation will raise needed money for the children of deployed troops. We need every Ranger in the Southern California area to register now as we are trying to get 50 people confirmed and pre-registered by March 31, 2009. This event may well be the last major event that we as a community have a chance to participate in. As you have noticed many old friends have posted the past week and come by to visit the UHD Board to let us know they are still here and hoping that the movie gets made and Season 3. My good buddy BeeBull posted tonight some great words. We still have an achievable goal. That is to provide numbers to the bean counters that there is enough interest to produce a movie and to hopefully produce a Season 3. The comic book and other forms of keeping the story alive are good but we want the film and new episodes. Star Trek the movie launches in May. It is now 43 years since Star Trek first hit tv on NBC and look what the fans created. A brand name franchise that has made hundreds of millions for Paramount, all from a show that was cancelled and kept alive by a core group of fans until money, circumstance and new fans converged launch a series of movies and then several spin off shows. Epix is still very much in play and we have a real opportunity with the welcome home to Jericho event to put Jericho in the news and to define what we as a community are about and that as a consumer group we are not just going away. I know people are tired of writing, completing feedback forms, it seems pointless, but believe me the letters, cards and feedback forms are being measured and counted. You all may have seen the result of Casey Dong's research. He and Myvibes have done a fantastic job to show us how well repeat episodes of Jericho show continue to do on a 4th rate network with no promotion. We are still garnering around a million viewers based on Neilsen numbers. We have 11 episodes left let's make each one count. Feedback forms and letters out. For every letter, email or person who posts online there are a thousand fans who are just waiting for the next chapter in the Jericho story.
