Jericho - Proving that all is not "LOST"

The parrallels betwen Jericho and Lost that foreshadowed the post-apocalyptic drama have all but vanished, which is good news for producers of the current Wednesday night mainstay. Jericho's unwarranted reputation as a Lost wannabe caused a bit of confusion and dissapointment in the beginning of the show's run; where's the weird?

The premise is great. However, the story unfolded, it became clear the writers had no intentions of recognizing a realistic apocolypse. There are numerous inconsistancies regarding gas, food, shelter, electricity, etc..etc..but the flaw that made me stop watching this program was the character "Hawkins" & everything that surrounds him. He apparently isnt subject to the entire towns plight. He drives a big old Cadillac wherever, yet never needs gas. Food, shelter, & electrcity for his numerous gadgets is endless. His story is more about the love of his family & the top secret FBI operation he is involved in. In my opinion its another network farce, where the Black man overachieves at everything & anything he does. He is incredibly intelligent, strong, caring, & clever. He is righteous & deeply moral while he saves the world. Like all Black movie/TV actors he is the EXACT opposite of real life blacks, he is the blessed savior to white people everywhere. Brainwashing propaganda.

To Guest - (Denver) Boy, I'm glad you live in Denver and were annihilated by the first known bomb on Jericho. Just kidding! What arrogant negativety you display. It's almost prejudicial. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you totally missed out on this one. Jericho is a very thought provoking drama, but it is not supposed to be a do!@#!@entary. That is why it is fiction. Hawkins was definitely a mystery, but the more that is revealed about his background the more I wanted to learn about him and his family. Also, there are other very rich characters and the actors are just phenominal in their portrayals. The writing and acting are only two of the reasons I will continue to watch Jericho for many seasons to come. Maybe you should buy the DVD of Season One and watch Season Two beginning on 2/12/08 before you pass judgement.
