hey, okay heres the story

I JUST finished lost season two (it was awsome..but you all probably know that) and so i decided to do some board surfing, im really into the whole theories thing. I was on the IMDB boards when i saw an unreplied post with the title 'hansoexposed.com ?'. Coz im just naturally curious i went there and trie dto figure out what was going on, but i couldnt get it!
i googled and this site seems to have the best rachel blake info. I was just reading through some posts and this whole thing seems really intresting but i have NO IDEA whats going on, and i want in..where do i start and what do i need to know

Well, its going to take you a while to get caught up on RBlake vids. If you goto www.rachelblake.com and enter 'evident agenda' into the 'other info' field you will get to where she dicusses the videos. You will see that the dates to her post there are followed up on the forum here with the same format: (Italy Post 06 07/12) and so on. Most passwords/usernames are right on the stophanso blog, but any that aren't you can get by searching the forums using the format above. I am pretty sure most have a link to the parent site that contains the vid, but if not just search it out here.

When/if you have problems don't be scared to ask, someone will help out, just don't go around making more new posts everytime. Use this one to help keep things neat and tidy.

oh god - with respect, i think it might be too late to start.
Basically whats happening is, running alongside the tv show is "The Lost Experience" which is an alternate reality game. It is mainly internet based, but also runs through things like phone lines and Television ads.
It has been running since May, and has got unbelieveably complecated, with an enormous number of websites and "storylines," for want of a better word... and at this late stage i just dont know how easy it would be to begin playing. It would literally take me hours to explain everything, but in very very very very basic terms:

There is a company called the Hanso Foundation. It was founded by a man named Alvar Hanso, i think in the... 60s? (not sure about that, but fairly recent.) Alvar hasnt been seen in public since 2003, and alot of suspision has arisen surrounding the hanso foundation. On the outside, it claims to be a good organisation, working towards making humanity "better." They have around 6 active projects, an example of which is the life extension project - they have an ape who is 105 years old, named Joop. The suspicion though, is that the hanso foundation are "evil," and are actually doing horrible things in secret, perhaps for want of world domination or something else major like that.

They had a website, but unfortunately you can't veiw it now as it is been shut down, because:
When the site launched, it was hacked by a person named "Persephone." she sent us (players, public) messages and info through their site - you had to find passwords and things for sections of the site, in order to view info that persephone had obtained that the hanso foundation didnt want us to see. When they eventually got wind of this, they shut down the site. See for yourself: www.thehansofoundation.org

It turned out persephone was actually "Rachel Blake," who for some unknown reason is on a mission to bring down the hanso foundation and expose it's secrets. She seems to be getting somewhere with that mission - she's been posting videos, which had to be found by trawling through the net and obtaining usernames and passwords in various ways etc, and a diary of her progress since May - you can see her blog here: stophanso.rachelblake.com (no www.)

If you want to see her videos, i suggest going to youtube.com - i think they are all uploaded there, but try to watch them in order. There are about 3 videos from each country she has visited. (she had to travel due to clues she recieved from people, and tip offs.)

DJ Dan (www.djdan.am) has also broadcast podcasts saying that he wants to expose the hanso foundation. He is a DJ who broadcasts a radioshow called "shutting down the man" - basically discussing conspirisies and things like that, but it really focusses on Hanso. Some say that he could perhaps be someone actually working for the Hanso foundation but undercover - as he takes calls from the public and could want to recieve information, so that hanso know exactly what we, the public, know about them.

Thomas Verner Mittlewerk of the Hanso Foundation appears to be the one running all the shots there. It is thought that possibly alvar hanso was/is a good guy, but that his inferiors captured/killed him in order to pursue the atrocities they wanted to commit. (although nobody knows exactly what they are yet.) Another theory is that Alvar is a relation, perhaps father of Rachel, and is a good guy, and that is why she is trying to bring them down.

The most recent development in the game is Rachel's genuine appearence in the crowd at the Comic Con in san diego - where some cast and writers of lost were taking questions from the audience. She stood up, and started mouthing off about the hanso foundation and how evil they are - of course, the case were just saying "that company is a fictional entitiy that is just part of our show" - she says no, she says they are real and that Lost is promoting it. See the vid of this at youtube.com - type in "Rachel Blake Comic Con" and it will be the first one to pop up. This is an example of how reality crosses over with the game.

She said at Comic Con to go to www.hansoexposed.com - which is the, we think, lastest and maybe last development in the game. Register on the site, and make sure you read the instructions. Rachel has obtained her last video, which she claims will bring down the Hanso foundation once and for all, exposing everything it really is. However, she says if she shows us the video in full, they will track her and have her killed, so, she is hiding it all over the web, in fragments. You have to look all over the internet for special codes, always written next to a "glyph" which is basically a little symbol. You then may enter the code, and if correct, you will recieve the clip lasting about 2 seconds. One clip per correct code. And they don't come in order. It is up to you to inspect the clips and put them in an order. Seven codes have been released so far, and only three have been by the players as yet. And they're not just on the web. For example, one of them was found yesterday on a braclet worn by one of the lost writers at the Comic Con.

That explanation really was incredibly basic and not very in depth at all - there is so much more stuff and its all stupidly complicated, but I hope that helps. It's going to be hard to pick up the game at this stage, but if you manage to, it's great fun!! I suggest you visit this forum often to keep up to date, and also, if you want all the weekly round-ups since the game began in May, I recomend reading through www.thelostexperienceclues.com, there are weekly roundups, or www.insidetheexperience.com - which is a blog left by someone hwo goes by the name of "speaker." Make sure you read from bottom to top, as the most recent posts are at the top. It will take you hours and hours. but have fun!

You'll need to get up to date with all the characters too, and what they're upto. The two main characters at the moment are Rachel Blake, and Thomas Mittlewerk. They seem to be the good and bad guy, respectively. But with all the other twists taken into consideration, that could change. You should probably know that Rachel Blake, and Persephone are the same person. Blake is basically convinced that Mittlewerk and The Hanso Foundation are upto no good, and she is trying to find out about it and stop them.

theres not much i can do right now except read the roundups, everthings already moved on..but i can jump in in the middle of it right?..if i know whats happened before? (im in the 'inside the lost experience' blog, its the fifth week roundup)

I'd go to youtube.com if I were you. do a search on "Rachel Blake" and watch all the vids. That'll help you get up to speed. This is a very convoluted plot however, and there's an ongoing debate just how much this is connected to the TV series and whether or not it should be. Also, be sure to sign the petition! =)
