What do you guys think?

We want Jamie Silberhartz, actress behind the role of Rachel Blake for The Lost Experience online alternate reality game, to be granted a significant speaking role during the third season's production of LOST the television series, being broadcast on ABC television this fall. We want Jamie Silberhartz to portray Rachel Blake. She could appear on the island or (perhaps more realistically) in one or more principal characters' flashbacks, but we want it to be a significant appearance for more than one scene in a given episode, more than one episode in the given third season, and we want her to have more than a few lines, which should have a notable affect upon the overall plot arc. She's a talented young actress with great potential, and deserves an opportunity to shine. Oh, and we want her to be paid well for her time and effort. We suggest better than scale, but not overtly extravagant; enough so that she will feel monetarily compensated for the effort and thankful for the opportunity. ...and a pony. Please keep in mind you can reply here if you want but your signature will not be counted unless you go to that link and sign the petition itself. Also we're probably never going to see more than 23 signatures, but if we do it will be because of your efforts. If you agree with the words of the petition, PLEASE share it with everyone you know who enjoys this ARG and the tv show and wants to see Rachel Blake on the boob toob. You have the power to make this happen but only if you, like me, believe it's a neato idea. I don't know if it's a worthy cause like saving whales or stopping diseases, but it'd be pretty cool if it happened, doncha think?

At first the character annoyed me too, Knotty. That may be by design. It's certainly not the fault of the actress portraying her. It's also very NOT easy to perform under the circumstances Ms. Silberhartz is being directed to perform. It's practially guerrila acting. There's no telling how much is scripted and how much is improvised. Performing directly to a camera under the conditions we've seen means Silberhartz is capable of much more than your average actress, if only she's given the opportunity to prove it.

So don't do this for Rachel Blake. Do it for Jamie Silberhartz, and all the Jamies out there who deserve that big break but never quite get it. We can do our small part to help this actress find some real limelight. Where it takes her will pretty much be up to her.

Oh, I'm sorry, when I said "Rachel Blake" I meant Jamie. I think it's her mouth I don't like. I understand not doing it for Rachel, why would I do it for a character like that? I understand an up and coming actress needs as much support as she can to make it big and an episode in Lost like you are asking for would really help with that. But I just don't like her acting. And again, I understand that the acting portion may not be her fault if that is what they are asking her to do. What makes you think that the role she gets in Lost is going to be diffrent than what she is doing now considering she would be portraying the same character? If I can't stand to see her on her little clips, why would I want to see her on Lost? Granted I did look at her imdb profile and she looks 10 times better in her picture (her mouth is closed), it's not enough to make me want to sign something at this moment in time.

Okay. Well. Y'know Knotty. Thank you for your candid opinion and I respect your decision and all that. Anyone who has a problem with Silberhartz's mouth certaintly doesn't have to feel compelled to sign. =) If I ever see more than 23 signatures I'll be happy. It was just a thought I had and decided to follow through with it. Threw it at the wall to see if it sticks. That sorta thing. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen but I figured what the heck.

If enough people out there agree with me that Silberhartz deserves an opportunity, and they want to see this game more significantly linked to the actual tv series than it apparently will be, then they'll sign the petition and Abrams may notice if there's enough of them, and it'll be like all the participants and observers of the game having an indirect impact on the show itself. But hey, Knotty, if you can't rally behind that banner I completely understand. No worries. =)

Well thanks. I never said I would never sign it, and I do hope you get people to sign. I would love to see the ARG connect more with the show, but maybe not through her. I love that you did come up with this, and I do wish you the best of luck with it!
