High School Musical: Vanessa Hudgens Nude Picture Aftermath

Everyone take a deep breath. It's been about a week since a (gasp!) nude picture of High School Musical star Vanessa Anne Hudgens surfaced on the Internet. The picture in question features the 18-year-old Ms. Hudgens posing stark naked in what looks to be her on-set trailer. The word is that this picture was meant for Zac Efron, her co-star/boyfriend. This may very well be the case. Hudgens publicist echoed this sentiment, almost immediately admitting to the media that the picture was indeed of Hudgens and that it was meant for purely personal use. What other personal uses are there for a naked picture than to send it to your boyfriend? As it tends to go with nudity of any kind, there have been divisive reactions to the situation, some even calling for Disney to disown Hudgens. But, Disney has fully supported their High School Musical star throughout the ordeal, effectively turning the picture into a non-issue. However, a couple of questions still remain.

Damn is Vanessa Hudgens hot! I'll watch any movie they put her in! She reminds me of that picture of Venus on the half shell only with a Mona Lisa smile.

If Disney were such a "family friendly" corporation - why have so many young women who've been a part of their organization have such horrible lives?

This is just step one for Ms. Hudgens. I hate to say I hope this ruins her career - if for nothing more than to get her out of there before her life gets worse.

Has she no pride in herself? Does she not value her own person enough to not do things like this? What she has told her boyfriend and now the rest of the world, is that she is just a piece of meat to be lusted over. She has no intrinsic value above her physical attributes and should not be valued for more than that.

How sad is that? Doesn't she realized (and I think most women these days don't) that she is a value in and of herself? That there is more to her than her looks and that she should respect that and that her boyfriend should respect it as well?

Hey, Racine WI -- lighten up. a nude photo intended to be shared privately with a significant other is hardly the abdication of mind, spirit or morality. Of course she has value as a human and as an individual. Taking a nude photo doesn't denegrate any of that. So many religious prudes believe we must deny / control / punish our bodies -- what a crock.

I'm betting this is a career move strategy by the actress & her agents to move her away from getting typecast in "Good Girl" roles. The picture is sexy but hardly salacious, and by saying it was private and for a boyfriend only, it doesn't degenerate into Britney-like !@#!@ material. Brilliant move....unless a bunch more pictures start to appear.
