| Many of you remember that in episode 3x21, Into Asylum, Sylar was able to gain the new power of shapeshifting, making him a far more deadly threat. While this opens up many opportunities for this character, it turns out Sylar's new power isn't actually for plot development. Tim Kring, after having dealt with many on-set problems from Quinto, such as upstaging, is using this power as an opportunity to replace Quinto as the actor for Sylar. "It's a bit shocking, but not really a surprise," says Hayden Panettiere, who plays Claire Bennet on the show. "He was okay in season one, but as the seasons went on he became a bit more problematic and even started changing the script. You know all those scenes between Sylar and Elle? All improvisation." So the question is raised, who can follow up Quinto's brilliant performance as the arch-villain of the series? The answer may be a bit shocking. "...we decided to look outside the box," says creator Tim Kring, "and we found just what we were looking for in Britain, of all places. When we first started looking for an actor, we started with all the usual places, starting with our trusted agents. Strangely enough, all but one of our normal agents were mysteriously unavailable. The sole remaining agent refused to talk to us, giving us only the message, 'Look for the sign of the wolf.' Naturally, we had no idea what this meant, and it took us several weeks before anyone made any progress." "We were filming a segment in Wales for one of Hiro's story arcs..." say's Heroes' Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman). "During a day when I wasn't required for filming, I was looking through a local vacation guide for something to do, when I noticed a tourist location, a little town called Southerndown, advertising itself as the filming location for 'Bad Wolf Bay' in the Doctor Who series. Instantly, all the pieces fell into places, everything from the agent's words all the way back to the Lincoln assassination. Clearly, this was the sign of the wolf." "Based on Jack's hunch, we took a detour to Bad Wolf Bay to have a look around," states Tim Kring. "We spent a whole day there, but we didn't find anything remotely useful. Just a normal beach. We were ready to give it up for good when Greg (Matt Parkman on the show) got this funny look on his face, grabbed the tourist guide from Jack, and started scribbling numbers and symbols I'd never seen before. About ten minutes later he just handed me a slip of paper with a number on it and then just collapsed. Strangest thing I'd ever seen." "Tim didn't have a clue what the number meant, of course," says Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder). "But I took one look at it and told him, 'It's seven digits. Try calling it,' and he figured it was worth a shot. And when he did, you know who answered? Santiago Cabrera (Isaac Mendez). We told him what was going on and all he said was, 'Just get David Tennant.'" David Tennant was ecstatic to accept the invitation, saying, "I'm glad to be on board, and glad to be working with a fellow Doctor." Zachary Quinto could not be reached for comment. |

| He's probably my favorite character. He leaves, I'll be watching a little less. They should kill him, for a season or two, and then another villain "brings him back". |
