No matter how good the next two episodes of Heroes may be, it can be safely said that Volume 2 is a massive failure. From plotting to execution, it's been one misfire after another, which truly disappoints me. The show's basic concept has so much potential, and much as it hurts me to say it, maybe the guy who created Crossing Jordan is the wrong person to serve as showrunner for this subject matter.Heroes Volume 2 is allegedly titled “Generations,” but the promise of that title has been largely unfulfilled. At its core, “Generations” should have focused on the Group of 12 and the interplay of the older generation of Heroes with the new one. Instead, the writers spent this season revisiting a lot of themes from the first year while introducing a rather arbitrary Big Bad with the Shanti Virus. To read the rest, click here.

Actually I am liking this season better with every episode. Last night's episodes was really wonderful! One of the best in the series. I have to disagree with most of the points in your article...

Not me, I actually dislike the direction of this season. I would have enjoyed a stronger plot tied to the Group of 12 since we've had to hear about it since Season 1, and we still don't have a clear indication of what their freaking problem is. All we get is "we did bad stuff for the greater good" over and over again and "we did what we had to." So instead of introducing the Shanti virus plot, they should have resolved this Go12 plot.

It aggravates me to no end that of the Group of 12 we only know three of their powers. We STILL don't know what Mama Petrelli and Kaito can do. All we know is Bob can turn things to gold, Maury has mind control, and Adam lives forever. Mama Petrelli has been my fave character on the show since Season 1, and I really want to see what she can do.

As for Mama Petrelli, I was convinced that in last week's episode, they essentially told us that her power is persuasion, the same as Eden's. Reading up Eden's biography, you learn she was raised by her father and STEP-mother. Is it possible Angela had a third kid? Amd jeef, I'm with you: Mama Petrelli is the best character on this show. Speaking of ties, the names of the other Group of 12 mmbers were revealed, and the only interesting one is Carlos Mendez, the Hispanic guy. That's all I need to know to be sure that he was Isaac's dad.

Her name is Cristine Rose, and this is the perfect role to sum up a tremendous career. One look at her IMDb profile and you see she's guest starred on just about every single TV show for the past 20 or 30 years. It's the kind of role that is so good but a bit hidden, and it will never win her awards recognition, but it totally should. I like Masi just fine, but if anyone on this show deserves an Emmy nomination, it's Cristine Rose!

I completely forgot that Bob could turn things to gold. They have definitely slacked on on the whole "Generations" theme a bit.

the group of twelve plot was genious as so in naming volume 2 "generations", but i have been let down abit. the group of twelve plot should have been resolved then come back in the second half and do the shanti virus. The wonder twins are the cure for the virus. its the only way they would be relevant. anywhose a bit of a dissapointing season but i have faith that the next season will come back stronger than ever......GOOD LUCK HEROES.

Wait, what? Bob Can TURN THINGS TO GOLD?!? Since when? What episode was this in? How did I miss that entirely?I do admit that the first like seven or whatever episodes of the second season were garbage, but I though the last three were okay. I enjoyed mondays episode which I just watched today because I had taped it. It was pretty apparent HRG was NOT about to die, although I hadn't originally thought it would be the company that would restore him to health. Looking forward to seeing some peter petrelli next week now that he's not a crazy amnesiac.
