| Have seen that some people think takezo could still be alive 400 years later but how? He may be able to self heal like claire but he is not immune to the ageing process or he would never get to the age of being a full grown man. My point is he would eventually die of old age. Is it also possible that when he does age his power of healing takes longer as it weakens like your senses do, loss of eyesight and hearing. We also know that the power is active from birth as claire survived a fire and has also aged to that of a teenager from a baby. |

| Good question. But I'm gonna leave it up to the writers to explain this. First, because it's 1AM and I don't feel like thinking about it. And second because I'm not smart enough to figure something out anyway.

| Who says they have their power from birth? It may take time to actually begin working. Perhaps now Claire can age no further, same as Kensei. It's possible...

| age in and of itself would not be something a healer would reject, it's the degenerative effects that the ability would counteract. the end result would be a person that remains in the prime of their life. this is generally mid to late 20s. i guess the example of choice would be wolverine. kensai looks like he's still got a couple years to go. claire too. if it works that way, anyway. |

| Senior Member | I reckon fatj0 sounds on to it. It's degenerative effects of aging that kill us. with regeneration it'd be sweet.

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | We don't know *how* she survived the fire. We assume it was because she could heal, but we don't see any sign of her being able to heal prior to the cut she gets in the "six months before" episode (or whatever it was called). For all we know, someone saved her from the fire. Knew who she was, assumed that she had powers. When Hiro's dad gave her to HRG, didn't he mention something about if she develops any powers to contact them? That wasn't in my head, was it? LOL. I think as far as aging goes...well its an interesting thing. If we had regeneration, our body would continually repairs (like Wolverine). Therefore, we would perpetually stay looking and feeling a certain age. The kind of peak of your body's health. And if Claire *did* have her powers as a baby, that wouldn't mean she doesn't get older. I don't think growing into an adult is necessarily degerative. At some point you would reach a peak and then your body would begin to degenerate and thats when regeration would kick in. The mere act of growing doesn't seem like it would be something that her body would try and stop.

| Anyone has regeneration abilities, Claire and Kensei "just" faster and can regenerate any part that's all. The process of growing is written in the DNA and has nothing to do with regeneration or not. I think they can live longer than any human being but, i don't think they are immortal

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | I honestly just pull that out of my arse. I have no information to go on, just my taking a stab at how it all works. Why, is it a bad idea? LOL. Luicole, I think you may be right as well, about them not being immortal but living longer than any other human. I just wonder how long and how they will show their aging. I mean, skin getting wrinkly and stuff like that, is it just a part of getting old or is that something that would repair itself. People die because their bodies give out, how would Claire and Kensei die? Would their regeneration start to slow with age? I don't know how it all works. I'm interested to find out.
