only 11 of the group of 12 are in the picture, i'm wondering who the 12th is. also considering powers (although unless West is another lost child / brother of Nathan (Peter) and therefore, yuck, Clairs' brother / neice) the power of the parent is not related to the power of the child / grandchild, could it be that Kensei is Clairs' maternal grandfather? if so, is Kensei the member of the group of 12 missing from the picture?

No one is missing, there are all 12 people in the photo. After reading some other people's theories about why Mr, Petrelli is looking to the side, I have to admit: I firmly believe that Mr. Petrelli is David Anders, aka Kensei. Also, that would make him the mystery man killing everyone off. I mean, he went after Kaito and Angela, aka his wife and the dude she was cheating with. It makes a whole lot of sense, though, if true, I'll be fascinated to see the mechanics of how they work it all out, with Hiro time traveling and causing all sorts of stuff.

One could assume that the picture was taken approximately the same time that the company was created, which would put it ~30 years prior to season 2. (Bob says thats when it was founded in episode 2.01) That time frame leads me to think that the African(-American?) lady in the picture is in fact Nana, since they hold their age well. I could be wrong, lets wait for more episodes to find out

I think LOSTHEROES2324 is right about the spanish looking guy being Isaac's dad because Linderman new about Isaac and collected all his paintings????

..I would agree he might be isaacs dad and why not have the grey haired guy be sylars dad? Makes sense so far. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

A few points:

- This photo was taken the last time they met together so it could have been recent

- If you look at the pic of Kaito (the ripped up one) you will notice that to his left there is someone standing next to him in a white suit (you can see their shoulder) where as in the above pic there is no on there.

- also Arthur Petrelli is looking towards that direction almost as if he is talkin to someone yet there is no one there.

- i believe the killer is future badass hiro - no reason jus think it would be cool if he was.

- If you watch the first episode again they show clips of the upcoming series right a the beginning i.e. hrg slappin someone, nathan on a blown up roof

Obviouslily many of you guys have not read the grapic novels.... because mr Arthur Patrelli doesn't have a power, at least so much is clear after reading the grapic novel "war buddy's " or he developed it after that novel, what i find hard to believe....
So if that to be true it would mean that not all the people in the picture have powers....

Or am i wrong about the novel, maybe I interpeted wrongly???

Kensei is Arthur Petrelli and everything points to that especially since Claire also has the power to heal. It would just be plain stupid to have people with the same exact powers if they were not at least some way related.

in my opinion it would be just plain stupid to apply an idea that has no founding within the precedents of the show as the only logical explanation.
