| I know... he didn't actually "get" her power since he can't use it as per his defective powerlessness but in theory he has acquired it (or at least he thought he did). I know there was some debate about whether or not Sylar eats the brains of his victims (though I'm pretty sure the consensus is that he does not). If eating their brains was all that was necessary, he would have gotten Eden's power in the previous season, since all she did was shoot herself, her brain was still there for the taking. In fact, the idea is that by shooting herself in the head, Eden damaged her brain enough to make it impossible for Sylar to examine it and determine what the nature of her power is (which is how it would appear he gains the powers). If you need an intact brain, and you're in a shed in the middle of nowhere, how do you go about getting it? The skull isn't an easy thing to get through if you don't have a high powered saw made specifically for the purpose of cutting through skulls. Anyway... why would Candice allow this to happen?! she knows exactly what Sylar is capable of... bah... I can't take it, everything this season is so totally moronic. Why do they let their pet chimps write the show... WHY?! |

| one of two things, i honestly believe that she didn't see it coming and thought that by simply being nice to him he wouldn't kill her, or that she is still in a corner somewhere observing his behavior as he slices and dices an illusion as he pleases. |

| maybe (though I read a spoiler about the next episode that doesn't sound like the Candice in the corner possibility is viable) but that still doesn't explain how he would get at her brain. When he had his cutting power it was easy, and we can assume that the first guy he killed he had whatever tools he would have needed to get through his skull, but in that shed?! I just don't buy it. Of course, as I've said, basically none of the show makes any sense anymore, so, I don't know why I'm harping on this one point. I SO long for the good old days where the plot holes were really really small and discussing them actually made the show better, rather than just revealing it for the steaming pile of dung that it's become. |

| I'm thinking..he can see how things "work". Ergo, he probably just dissects the brain and sees how it works differently, and changes his to match it. Then, disposes of the brains in order to prevent anyone else from seeing whats so special in the person and aquiring the power. He sees "what makes things tick". So thats what makes sense to me. Also, because otherwise any other hero could gain powers by eating other brains. And in the first place, how would sylar know? He kept repeating he could tell how things worked, so the first guy, he opened his skull to see what was going on, and then saw a connection. if it makes any sense.

We know he needs to open her skull to look at the brain to get the power so why need to know how he opens it? The more important question is why slyar didn't get her powers.... This is a bad example but its like saying why did Claire move to California, why not move to a place with the lowest population.. those little meaningless "flaws" are irrelevant to the story. |

| Senior Member | OK so in the last season we saw in the future Sylar 'morphed' into Nathan Petrelli, giving a speech about the bomb. We never saw him get Candice's power back then. But we knew it had to have happened. I just find it a little interesting.

| sylar topic: about whether or not sylar eats brains.... there are several episodes in season 1 that elude to this.... 1: when mohinder had sylar tied up... sylar mentioned something along the lines of "i want to sink my teeth in" metaphor? maybe.... but thats pretty direct... 2: molly had a line: "... he eats your brain" in reference to sylar 3: where does he hide the brains? in his stomach, after he eats them, that's where. candace topic: what i dont get... is in the finale when candace was portraying "jessica" and niki knocks her out she changes form back into pretty candace laying on the floor... and when sylar knocks her out she changes back into betty (big and fat(see graphic novels 39-42)). |

| sylar killed her and she turned into big ol' betty, nikki knocked her out. there's a chance that she has a kind of default illusion, like in the matrix where morpheus is talking about the digital self image or soemthing like that, it's what her brain imagines her to be on a subconscious level. when she was stripped of the ability to think via brain removal, that's what caused her to balloon. and as for the whole "sinking teeth in" metaphor, i thought of it as more a predatory hunger, thirsting for power rather than a literal zombie-esque taste for brains. molly knew that sylar made skull caps out of her parents... it's a natural assumption for a little girl to make that he would eat them but that doesn't make it true. she's a locating device, she sees people, not what they can do. |

| As far as Sylar eating the brain: he had blood on his hands, but not a speck around his mouth. If later in the series we find out that he DOES eat the brain, then the producers wimped out by not putting some blood on his mouth in this episode. |

| I actually don't believe Sylar killed Candace, it wouldn't make sense for the company to send in one of there important agents to a killer... Also she would have know that he's killer...Thats why i think Candace isn't dead and it was all an illusion, that would make sense because Sylar was in the middle of now where (illusion) he didn't have her powers (my guess he eats the brains)...And he ended up somewhere on a road, i think candace placed him there About adopting the powers, I think Sylar eats the brains...However his power is to see how things work, so maybe he just need to look at the brains and change his own brain (with his mind) to whatever brain he's holding in his hands and do their powers... |
