OK, what I don't get is why Claire was so surprised that her toe grew back. In season one she put her hand in the garbage disposal to grab the ring that fell off of her finger and I remember that at least one of her fingers was partially cut off and the whole hand was sliced up. So she must have known that, that would happen. :/

Yes, Claire is dumb. Everyone knows if you want to cut your toe off, close the curtains first. My biggest problem is that it seems like the characters and writers have all had their memories wiped by the Haitian. The plot moved forward so much at the end of last season, and rather than expand on the Heroes getting together to realize their true potential, they're all back to square one, trying to rediscover themselves. Oddly, the show is more like 24 than Lost, in the way it resets the clock rather than just continue the narrative.

Recall that the core band of heroes were just beginning to discover their powers when we were introduced to them last season--and that occurred right after the eclipse. Kensei did seem like he was pretty sure he was dying, and seemed genuinely surprised when his wounds healed. Notably, this was just shortly after the eclipse that happened in past-Japan. Could the eclipses somehow trigger, or at least coincide with, the awakening of powers in a new generation of heroes? Either physically, in that the alignment of the heavenly bodies actually causes physical changes in people, or simply that it signifies a critical point in spacetime when their powers begin to manifest?

One thing I don't get. Why does the Kensei have the regenerating power thing? According to what I understood it was a genetic development that was really..from that time. how come then that people 400 years back were different..surely someone would have noticed. Also, i'm starting to think the Kensei is not from 1604. which would explain why hes got different genes. im thinking the older group of Heroes. im thinking someone with hiros power sends a dude back to protect him from the evil that will come. I'm thinking an older hero copy of isaac saw all that in the future, and they decided to save one who could live long enough to tell the new heroes generation what to do. im thinking an old copy of Hiro brings back an old copy of Claire, who has been wiped out by an old copy of the Haitian. If it makes any sense. Although i dont believe the theory myself, it explains a few things. Also, this way Hiro could know what his dad was waiting to tell him, even if his dad isnt there to tell him. Maybe by leaving a letter or such. [old copy of isaac could have forseen this, but old copy of haitian could have been ordered by the rest to remove this memory, so tha Also, Eclipses are often. There are about 4 to 7 each year. Now...that can't be right. Also i remember reading that the Eclipses were just a way to connect the heroes. They used to be considered magic and mystical, and it was symbolical. It occurred when heroes started being aware of being heroes. and there was one every first episode of the season for now. it could just mean a new chapter. And--yea. this episode was good. although a bit predictable. and mr. muggles barking up must have been the funnies thing i've seen in a long time. Claire is dumb, then again, its in her character, and we have to see that. ANND. i had more to add. but i forgot. i have a lot of interesting things to add, but cant come up with them. Anyone have any idea of why kenseis genes are far ahead in respect to his time? Also-- it wasn't nathan. Also--i'm beginning to wonder. If hiro gets to learn and master his powers, why, if he spends one year in japan 1600's, cant he go forward to the exact point where he left for japan 1600's. im guessing its just to help the continuity of the flow of the show. cause it would be confusing to see hiro in japan and in the present. andd he would tell ando what he did, which would ruin our suprises. But it doesnt make sense, in continuity. if anyone has any idea why that is... EDIT: linderman DOESNT regenerates. he CURES. thats different. He can HEAL something if he wants to, and focuses on it. but he cant heal without wanting to. otherwise all around him would heal. Also--claire regenerates. but she doesn't keep flowers or people around her from getting hurt. Last edited by Tippete : 10-02-2007 at 11:41 AM. Reason: adding a point.

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | ^^ I don't think its Nathan now either now that we've seen another person being attacked, but I still think it was a valid theory after the first episode, whether you agree or not.

I agree with meimei about Claire. She's dumb and a bit annoying right now but hey - she's a teenager. What I hated most about her was that she forgot to lock her friggin car!!! A car which is worth quite a bit and which she just received as a gift from her parents. My dad would have been a bit more upset with me than her dad was. I alsodon't get how much she really feels, when she hurts herself. I remember that when she was realining her bones in season 1 she at least flinched and hissed in pain. Now she can do practically anything without even so much as biting her lip? Did she raise her pain threshold through constant exposure or something? I don't get why her future boyfriend left after seeing her cutting off the toe cause I'd be thrilled if I saw another person having abilities just like me. I think that Mohinder only pretended to be brainwashed, after all he and HRG work together so they probably knew all along that Mohinder would be sent to heal the Haitian from his new boss. Can't wait to see how Peter will do in Ireland and if he'll (maybe unintentionally) hurt another innocent person while they're stealing...whatever it is they wnated to steal, I forgot. Maybe he can't control his powers completely anymore cause of the memory loss.

I really do like Claire, but at the same time, I was hoping that her toe wouldn't grow back. Is that mean of me? :P But seriously, her power is cellular regeneration, not withstanding pain, so she should have said more than "ouch" when she cut it off. Yay! I love the Haitian. So glad to see him back. And also, what is up with Heroes and squicky family relationships? Last season, Nathan and Peter could hardly keep their hands off each other, and when Angela was with the two boys--fuhgeddaboutit! Now the Honduran wonder twins look all soulfully into each others eyes to stop the evil black tears of doom.
