What if Linderman is an empath also. Say he killed everyone in the future as a boy, went back in time and is now planning to control the world before it is post-apocalyptic.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of the obviously emphasized cockroach. It may also be a tag-along with his powers as seems evident with a few others. Peter absorbs powers, and seems to store them. Invisible man is also not heard by other people.

Sylar has the ability to see how things work, that and the cockroach, answers how he somehow faked his death. Sure we all sweet-talk our dogs, but roaches? Plus, it seemed like he got some information he couldnt have gotten elsewhere, that a dog may seem to have been able to answer if it could speak.

Sylar could have just absorbed the ability, we dont really know how many abilities Sylar has absorbed in the past, and I think the writers have intentionally left that open-ended. It could go either way, bit Im positive hes got a connection with animals.[/b]
i think linder man is sylar's father and the watch maker thing is just a cover up or somthing

RULE # 2.5 : If you didn't see it, It didn't happen!
We never saw Peter Nates dad die, did we?
It never happened. There will definately be more to that story I bet! I don't know if he's Linderman, but he'll rise from the faux ashes that his sons left him to rot in.

Actually, I thought the police had a file on Sylar and his serial killing MO of opening their heads up. That would tell us exactly how many powers he has...and I think it was around 5 or 6?

Anyway, I must have missed this cockroach thing?? I saw him talking to Mr. Muggles but i'm pretty sure that was just baby talk to a dog. I don't see anything other than that.

Here's one for you. I think Linderman is the ancient oriental who brandished the sword thousands of years ago.

By that I mean maybe he is the 'father' of the heroes.
The first of his kind. Immortal, hiding out for years and years. Maybe psychic, maybe
Would make one hell of a bad guy. Extreme power and 2 millennia of wisdom.

okay so maybe linderman can project images into peoples minds. that would explain his seeming absolute power over everyone and peters 'visions' just a thought.

Mr. Linderman is going to be ultimate tie in character. Once he is introduced all the stories will finally tie into one another, he's like the magic missing puzzle piece.

I'm betting he'll make his first appearance in episode 17 when we get more details on who HRG works for, and I'm betting he'll be played by Eric Roberts, as TV Guide says Eric Roberts will guest star in heroes episode 17.

A friend of mine speculates that the ancient Samurai shown with the sword is actually Hiro--that its a painting of him after he's traveled back in time, and "become" this character.
Clearly, all the characters are connected or will tie together in some fashion because that's a component of the "mythology" of the show, and while I'd agree its likely that Linderman is a "bad guy", as we've seen in the past, things aren't always what they initially seem. He may be pulling strings behind the scenes to advance his own agenda, but that doesn't necessarily make him a "bad" guy, just a manipulative guy. Whatever his backstory is, it'll clearly be a revelation that we're all looking forward to.

What cockroach is everyone talking about? How did Sylar act like he was dead?
