Why Does Sylar Need Claire?

I always thought Sylar wanted to kill Claire to absorb her healing powers. But in this episode, he appears to be mortally shot, yet runs away and escapes. There was also an earlier episode where the Alias guy shot him, and he similarly healed/escaped.

So it would seem to me he already has healing powers, therefore he wants Claire for some other reason...

I think Claire has more significance than she thinks. Perhaps she has other powers she just hasn't exhibited yet?

Sylar can't so much heal himself, as he can "fix" himself. If someone chopped his arm off, he wouldn't be able to grow it back like Claire could. Not only for those reasons, but Sylar is insane and is power hungry. He wants any and all powers he can get his hands on.

Interesting, but could it be classic revenge syndrome? Syler is pretty pissed at Mr. Bennet & knowing that a:he didn't get the cheerleader the first go at it & b: The man who caged him up was the same cheerleaders father , could possibly be all the motivation he needs to be obsessed with getting ino Claires brain.
Syler is 1 sick dude! He certainly has an obssesive personality/mentality.

O.o yeah.
He can tell how things work not grow new arms.
<.< Its more of a telekinesis thingie, his power is so trained he could stop the bullets before they hit him.
Its how he didn't get hit when the Matt shot at him.

I still think that Claire will end up tying back to Linderman... I still predict that Nathan and Peter are Lindermans kids... that's where they get their powers/genes from... therefore Claire is Lindermans grandaughter... and he wants her protected by HRG.

Another theory... Syler worked with Papa Suresh, who was funded by Linderman... Linderman has sent Syler out to "save/retreive" Claire from HRG, who has held her hostage all this time... Linderman cant get close to her himself because of the Hatian... or something like that

I don't think Sylar has healing abilities like Claire does, I think that power is still only traced to her and Peter from absorbing her powers. I think he stops the bullets using his mind abilities. The theory about Claire tying back to Linderman is interesting but I haven't peiced that together yet. Only a few more days to see what happens next week and maybe some of this will start to make more sense. I have a feeling this is going to be a long, but AWESOME season and we won't really see the explosion until the last couple of episodes. Things probably won't make sense until the end either.

i think the explosion will happen at the end of the last episode of the season. And then we'll have to wait until the second season.
