| 1. Genesis (25 September 2006) 2. Don't Look Back (2 October 2006) 3. Sins of the Father (9 October 2006) 4. One Giant Leap (9 October 2006) 5. Collision (16 October 2006) 6. Come Together (16 October 2006) 7. Hiros (23 October 2006) 8. Better Halves (30 October 2006) 9. Nothing to Hide (6 November 2006) 10. Seven Minutes to Midnight (13 November 2006) 11. Homecoming (20 November 2006) 12. Six Months Ago (27 November 2006) 13. Fallout (1 December 2006) 14. The Fix (31 December 2006) 15. Godsend (1 January 2007) These titles were gleaned from IMDB.com. I'm guessing some of the dates are speculative, at this point. What do the episode titles mean (if anything)? Genesis: A beginning (obvious). We meet some of the characters as their abilities are either taking shape or just being discovered. Sins of the Father: "Forgive me father, for I have sinned." Ted Sprague or Sylar (not sure it was definite which) are introduced -- along with a bloody room with writing and scribbles on the wall -- regarding sin and forgiveness. One Giant Leap: Nathan and Peter deal with "flying", Peter suicide attempt and the implications on their lives. Come Together: Is this when Hiro, Ando, Isaac, Peter and Nathan also make some connection? I may be wrong, so correct me if I am. Seven Minutes to Midnight: Sylar murders Dr. Chandra Suresh at 11:53pm. Homecoming: The high school Homecoming game sets the scene for a confrontation between Claire & Sylar (with Peter and HRG being involved). Six Months Ago: We know that Hiro goes back six mths in time to try and save Charlie (the waitress). We also learn about the lives of some of the heroes before they discovered their power(s). I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on ALL the episode titles, including the forthcoming Fallout, The Fix and Godsend. |

| It seems that every episode title has many meanings...very clever writers: 1. Genesis (25 September 2006) Obviously Genesis means beginning....it is also the first book of creation...so i'm thinking the alternate meaning is that a new book of man is being written at this point. Also the comic books and the fact that the show is displayed in a comic book fashion...comics are the new acceptable form of imparting knowledge, so as the bible would have been the last generations common man way of explaining existence this is the next step of existence....basically tyeing both evolution and creation together. 2. Don't Look Back (2 October 2006) I think don't look back has a lot of meanings as well...basically for all the characters. They are changing and there is nothing to stop it...they really can't look back to how their lives were they are moving forward and there is nothing you can do about it. For Hiro its that he actually can move forward and backword. He sees the impending doom of the future first hand....Issac paints it. Peter finds out he can fly (while his brother is around) sometimes and gets really confused and decides that he needs to make a difference in his life. Simone decides that Issac is too far gone to really look back at their relationship anymore. And of course Mohinder is trying to discover his father...but knows he is dead and its impossible to look back. Revelations for all the characters....none can look back at what their life was, because it is now something different.\ 3. One Giant Leap (9 October 2006) Tons of references here! First the obvious....Peter jumps off a the swing set trying to fly.....and can't. The others.....Peter has also decided that he is definitely quiting as Simone's dad's caregiver and is going to go out and fulfill his fate, whatever that is.....Claire also decides that she wants to get all serious with the quaterback....and for a teenage girl that is one huge leap. Hiro convinces Ando that he can bend time and he takes the leap with him to go to America. And of course Peter takes the leap with Simone 4. Collision (16 October 2006) Well the obvious reference here is Claire taking revenge on the quaterback by colliding his car into a wall.....the more subtle references are: Nathan and Niki/Jessica definitely "collide" in Vegas....the gamblers in the casinos fist's collide with Hiro and Ando....also they all seem to be in Las Vegas at the same time...so while not actually meeting, they have a collision of sorts by being in such close proximity to each other. 5. Hiros (23 October 2006) I think this one is a bit simpler than most. Obviously a play on words for the show's title, it is not spelled in the possessive form as that would be Hiro's...this is spelled in the plural meaning more than one Hiro.....and that is true, there is future Hiro and present day Hiro....so this is basically telling us that Hiro can exist in multiple times at once. 8. Better Halves (30 October 2006) This one is all about relationships....If i'm not mistaken Matt is trying to fix his marriage in this one....Ando and Hiro get caught up in the card game where everyone gets slaughtered and Hiro begins to question what the hell he is doing.....Niki has a conversation with Jessica (that is of course another huge reason for the name)...Mohinder goes back home to scatter his fathers ashes, but not before kissing Eden.....and last but not least....Niki's "better half" D.L. returns home. 9. Nothing to Hide (6 November 2006) Well, basically everyone on the show has something to hide.....Irony? Claires brother finds the tape...and he needs to keep quiet...Peter goes to visit Nathan and he saves his brothers ass making up an excuse as to why he was in Vegas in the middle of nowhere...DL is in hiding, from the cops. Jessica pulls out the case full of hidden money. 10. Seven Minutes to Midnight (13 November 2006) Seems to hold a lot of significance. As someone else pointed out it is based on the Doomsday Clock...where the end of the world will occur at 7 mins to midnight. Also, Sylars watch is stopped at that time...and it would seem that Chandra may have been murdered at that time too. 11. Homecoming (20 November 2006) Homecoming dance.......I think that about sums it up....lol 12. Six Months Ago (27 November 2006) It will take place 6 months ago.....where Hiro travelled too...and also show what was happening to the heroes then...I'm guessing also an origin of Sylar story too. 13. Fallout (1 December 2006) 14. The Fix (31 December 2006) 15. Godsend (1 January 2007) |
