I don't think we have met him yet, I truly don't. First, I think Claire's adoptive father is a scientist who is on the same path to find the "heroes" (although I believe his intentions are not good).

I think Syler is the uber-anti-hero. First, he has claire's ability to take a shot and walk away. Evidently he can fly (didn't see it, but I believe it). I *think* he has the police officers telepathic abilities, albeit they are more honed because he can make others do as he bids. Don't know about the mirror thing, but I am willing to bet he has this too.

Onto Hiro's time space continum thing, I think Syler has it. First, he KNEW where the little girl was in the "safe" room, I bet someone somewhere later in the tale explains the girl was safely held at location x, he hears it and POP goes in for the hypothectical kill. I also believe that is how he knew to clean out his apartment. The indian guy surely went on to show the police the pictures and surely the information was turned over to the FBI. It may have even led to his arrest, which is how he knew to get out and go "clean house".

I don't think Nathan is Syler, while the picture bears a slight resemblence the features are very common, high cheek bones, set jaw, classic pretty boy. For all we know it could have been the guy that "killed" claire, you know? Nathan is a grimy politician, but I really think that is his worst fault, I may be way off those, it is all just speculation.

All I can say is monday night football has some hot competition (although in my house the football wins). Thank God nbc lets us watch online!!

Hello all this is my first post here.

My thoughts. Sylar does not have Regen like our star cheerleader or Wolvie. Nor does He have telepathy Like Prof X or like our good do cop.

I think He has the ability of telekinesis. Think Jean Grey/The Phoenix

The reasons why:

The people that He has killed have no prints on them
Think about this scenario:
He lifts people up to walls/ceilings then throws items at them, knives, chairs, and etc.

He did not mentally suggest that the FBI agent turn Her gun on Herself but in fact grabbed hold of the gun and Her hand and moved it there.

He was able to slow and stop the Bullets from Our do good cop before they went through His skin.

He lifted Him self up and "flew" away.

In the Bar... He used telekinesis to shut of blood flow to the brain and that is why our do good cop passed out.

Like I said just my thoughts on it.

Also I think Sylar is working for a black ops section of the government. Not the USA government but a world wide organization.

Like I saidâ?¦.

Just my thoughts.

I think the reason he is after the little girl is because she knows who he is, and can ID him, their for she is a threat towards Slyar

Interesting idea, Bugobark--I think you might be on to something with his power! Plus, I saw in another thread than when he up and leaves, you can hear the bullets falling to the ground. I didn't notice that during the episode, but hey, it only adds to the telekinesis theory.

He's a tough guy. I wouldn't be surprised if some other ideas are right about the brains...That's pretty effed up.

Well I can see where you're coming from with thinking this guy is Nathan Petrelli, but I don't think he is. I think they're going to use that as a plot later on though. A sort of "is he or isn't he Sylar" type thing. But I don't think it is him. Actually, there was an article of Nathan on the map he had in his room, I really don't think it's going to be him, and now I don't even think they're going to use it as a plot.

I definitely agree with the stealing people's power theory. He described it as "hunger" on the phone, he has mutliple powers (flying/disappearing/being fast... whatever he did to escape, as well as mind control, and probably telekensis, either bullet-proof or fast regeneration), he keeps taking out peoples brains, he has a map of the world with locations of people with powers on it (assumed) with far more on it than Suresh ever had. I think he's been tracking them ever since Suresh brought him to the realisation of his own power, whatever that initially was, and far more relentlessly than Suresh ever did.

Why was he after the little girl? Anyone know? Was it to stop her identifying him, or does she have her own powers for consumption?

One thing is for sure though, he is gonna be one tough SOB to defeat. I think there will definitely have to be collaboration of heroes to do it.

EDIT: Sorry, I just read my post and it's a bit difficult to understand! Hopefully you'll get the idea though.

After reading this WIKIPEDIA describes Peter's ability as Power mimicry. And come to think of it I didn't see Peter's picture on the map.. but I'm in a bit of a rush I'll go back and watch the episode again to make sure.

That Sylars a crafty one!
And Bugobark essentially rules with the psychic refrence to Jean Grey. Minus that bar-suffocation part as we're all still workin if our stranger with the necklace is Sylar himself. Psychic abilities pretty much explains everything he's done thus far (minus the ice bit but the atomization idea could work) which is very level with some sort of genetic manipulation of all our fellow 'heroes' powers.

As for Sylars escape from the apartment what "could have been a time-jump ability" that was posted above, could it also be he just has abuncha friends with U-Haul and good connections?

That's what I was thinking. Sylar seems to be almost all powerful at the moment, so who's to say that he doesn't have visual image manipulation? It would make sense that he would try to disguise himself when he went after the girl in episode 2, because he looked awfully obvious there when it came to almost seeing his face. Whether or not he could impale people with random objects, I don't think a calculating serial killer like him would just waltz into an FBI building with nothing to hide his identity.
