Flying would be absolutely perfect. A way to escape the stress of everyday life, just for a little bit.

Ok, here's hy theory to why he can't fly. Well I think he's physcic and can see the future. First he can see him fallinga nd flying, but interprits this wrong into himself and not Nathan, his bro. And he then says he knew that someone (not sure who it is) was hurt before he got the call about the acciendent. And the picture was maybe Isaac painting his dreams.

Wadda ya think?

sounds logical but then there'd be two characters who can see the future, right?
wouldn't that be a bit boring?

That is true...

but maybe they'll like not bring it in until the end, kind of a mystery cahracter so it doesn't clash with Isaac

All I know is I hope the show throws a lot of twists and stuff to make it even better than it already is. should be fun

Or maybe they'll have that one character who is someone we think, but really something we never expected

While watching the "Science of Superman" they tackled this issue. Superman has no wings, so how does he fly? Now, my memory fails me, but one of the speculations is that there are theoretical particles called gravitons (sp?) (A real scientific theory). Gravitons would act like photons (Light particles) which travel both as energy and an electromagnetic wave. Sometimes it travels as a particle, other times as a wave. Now it was theorized that if Superman had some sort of cells/particles that could sense the gravitational waves, he would be able to use them to move himself by basically surfing on those waves. (Not exactly the best explanation, and if anyone else can remember that show better feel free to correct me.) Anyway, if it is good enough for Superman, it's good enough for Heroes.

Gravitons might also be able to explain Hiro since gravity affects time, but I'm not going to venture there. I wouldn't know how to even defend that pure speculation.

Here is a link about gravitons by wikipedia: Graviton wikipedia link

That show complicated things far too much. Superman's ability to fly is as much due will power as it is gravitons (you're theory was mostly correct but incomplete, thus this reply) It has been explained in several mediums that the gravity on Krypton is 150 times that of Earth, this explains why he is able to leap so high, he uses your theory on gravitons to stay aloft, this doesn't explain how he gets from one point to another. According to most mediums, including the comic itself, he's able to get from one point to another through sheer power of will. He simply wills himself to be in a location he sees and that's where his body goes, the actual act though is subconscious, he's not able to actually control the gravitons keeping him aloft. He's able to alter his speed and direction subconsciously by will as well. The best example I've seen so far of this is on Smallville, after Clark proposes to Lana, he makes a super jump ( It appears that he's flying but it's a super jump, at that point he hadn't finished being taught, and hadn't learned/relearned to fly). If you notice, he looks where he wants to jump to, the expression is one of concentration suggesting that he is able to move there by force of will.
