Sylar in the future

Sorry if this has been brought up before but in the episode 5 years gone, Future Hiro states that he wasn't able to kill Sylar and then Ando replies "Because he had the cheerleaders power". If Sylar had Claires power then why would he kill Claire at the Petrelli mansion?

he didn't have claire's power, he just wasn't killed. he took on nathan's appearance and let the others think he had died in the explosion. it wasn't clearly expressed but the pieces were there for the viewers to put together at their leisure.
