| Well, I just was recalling, and in episode 5 (Hiros), Nathan uses his ability when he was with the HAITIAN and Bennet. But Doesn't the Haitian's ability also makes it impossible for other Heroes to use theirs? I am sorry if it has been posted already. |

| Not much of an answer to that. Perhaps he can only stop a cetain kind of power. Perhaps he just messed up and didn't think to use his power to stop Nathans. I don't think they knew what Nathans power was. That's why they had a shocked look on their faces when he flew away. |

| I noticed this too and mentioned it on another thread. I think that The Haitian has some sort of a "switch" the he turns on to have his nullification ability active. Thats the only logical thing I can think of. Otherwise, the writers just FUBAR'd this... |

| I think that the Haitian can only surpress mental abilities or he was just too stupid to think. |

| He may need to know what the power is first. |

| Senior Member | I've thought about it, and I've read theories over the Haitian. This one seems to fit best: Obviously, his power is memory manipulation. If you notice every time he takes memories, someone explains to him what it is, or says what it is. I'm thinking he's only able to take memories that they explain to him, he just can't go in and pick whatever he wants unless he knows what to look for. Now, knowing this I go along the same lines and say he can't block powers unless he knows what they are. They wouldn't have known what Nathan's power was since they never brought him in or anything, and they didn't know anything about him. The rest of the people the Haitian has been around, he knew what their powers were. Then again, I think of Daphne, the new person on Heroes. He probably didn't know what her power was, but maybe he does.

| Normally I would go along with what was just said, however i thought I saw in the preview for next week that someone said to Nathan that he was given his powers too...meaning he was created...IF this was the case then they did know what his power was...I could be wrong though... |

| Senior Member | Yeah, they did just say that. Maybe they were hoping he wouldn't use them, haha.

| regarding nathan being able to escape noah and the haitain: this occured during the time they seemed to be trapping and "diagnosing" ppl's abilities (like when they studied parkman) ... i just assumed that nathan simply took off before they knew for sure what his ability was. as they weren't out to harm any of the ppl they were assessing, the haitain likely wouldn't take away nathan's power once he was airborne, even if he had that kind of range.... but i see where you guys are coming from, why didn't the haitain just block his abilities the entire time ... |
