Wow, has anybody else noticed the connection between the number 42 and heroes?

Yes, I noticed the references to "42" so far all I could find was that Molly's room was on the 42nd floor and Micah was being kept on the 42nd floor of the tower. What is the secret meaning of this? I know it was on purpose but I can't find any explination. Strange.

what about waffles? they mention waffles in s01e04,e05,e08 and waffles again in s02e07. Waffles will save the world, cure the virus and is the source of the heroes powers. imma bout to cop me some eggos right now

But in all seriousness I'm extremely curious about the cockroaches.
They've been in so many episodes, they're like one of the main characters.

well natural selection and survival of the fittest are two major themes in heroes. Cockroaches are one of natures ultimate survivors and Mohinder explains in the first episode that if god has created himself in his own image then god is a cockroach.

THere is more to that # than the Hitchhikers Guide. For example, in Ancient Egyptian Mystisism when a person dies his soul is weighed against the "feather" which represents the 42 TRUTHS, then he has to go before the 42 Gods of the underworld before passing on to the Duat (otherworld/afterlife) I have dozens of examples like this one from religions all around the world. In Hindhuism, Budhism Catholisism, the Aztecs, Incas, Ancient Babylon etc. There is a hidden message, an esoteric reason for using 42 in this show. Does anyone else know what I am really saying here?

People joke about it because they are ignorant. They only know what the mainstream has shown them. Hitch hikers Guide is the only mainstream reference to 42. If you cared research this number you will be very surprised at what you may find.

im impressed with research behind the number 42 but before you belittle hitchikers guide, i am old enough to remeber the origional tv show, i havent even seen the movie, it appeard all those years ago in the tv series, dont you think who ever wrote hitchikers used 42 as a result of how prominent the number is with gods and truths etc, exelent writing on their behalf i say. it came out in 1981 in the uk, then the number 42 fell of the map until heroes, well picked up mr kring. 42 is the answer to the question "what is the meaning of life, the universe and everything" IN 1981
