We all now know that Meredith Gordon; a 35 year old woman from Kermit, Texas, is Claire Bennet's biological mother. We also know that Claire was "adopted" into the Bennet family. What we don't know is...

I personally think the fire was claires mother since we saw she can do sonthing with fire. I personally think that perhaps HRG found out she had a power and she trying to protect herself and her baby tried to defend herself from being studied by HRG. As a result she accidently burned down the building and thought she accidently killed her daughter. HRG then finds this baby that survives and takes her in. Why would HRG do this well he knows shes special and....perhaps Meredith ran away with claire and was hiding in the first place trying to stay away from Linderman who she had the baby with but wasnt necc married to so perhaps he was tryin to find claire because he wanted to study her seein as she has an ability so her mother tried to protect her and when the fire went off she fled and HRG took the baby without tellin linderman
