Who brought up that eclipse idea?

So, now I feel like there's history missing. Why is everybody special now? Micah obviously knows he's different (doesn't look like he's told anybody yet, not even Mom/Dopplermom or Pop) and he's only ten or twelve. Why has Claire only discovered her powers now? She's has to be at least sixteen, right? She never, ever, cut herself before? How 'bout DL? He could've been a serious crime boss by now if he'd persued his life of crime at Micah's age. How 'bout Hiro? I know work is boring but you'd think as a child or a teenager he would've stopped time or teleported a billion times by now. Is there any meat to this idea that something happened to everyone recently that made some of them suddenly different?

Them discovering their abilities isn't too sudden. Most of them have had these abilities for a fair amount of time now, way befoe the eclipse. So on, the eclipse has nothing to do with their abilities.

Not to challenge you in an a$$hole manner, but can you completely back that up? Examples?

Sure. Look back at Episode 7. Niki explicitly says that all of these weird things, dreams of tearing things apart and stuff, started 6 months ago. Plus, in connection with that, her husband's been in jail for a while, way longer than the eclipse. So if Jessica (alter-ego Niki) was the one to frame D.L., then she definitely had powers before the eclipse. Also in connection with that, D.L. escaped from prison before the eclipse, and he escaped using his abilities. Also with Peter, he was dreaming of flying like he said, "weeks" before the eclipse.

There are way more examples:

1) Sylar -- Sylar has been honing his abilities with Suresh waaaay before the eclipse. Sylar's killing spree definitely started before then too. That family that was killed at the crime scene when we first see Matt isn't the first.

2) Nathan -- Nathan seems to me to have somehow known that he could fly before... though this is speculation.

3) Isaac -- Isaac has been painting his 'high' paintings for a while. He said that the one that predicted the bus bombing in Israel was 3 weeks old.

4) D.L. -- It's already been stated that D.L. escaped from prison before the eclipse. He obviously needed his power to 'walk' out.

Others:

1) Nikki -- We know that Nikki setup D.L. as Jennifer way before the eclipse. What we don't know is if Jennifer had super strength before then. She didn't need super strength to commit the robbery and then kill D.L.'s crew. For all we know Jennifer is just a split personality of Nikki, and her power is not dependent on this. (meaning Nikki could learn to use her super strength without her other personality taking over)
