There's a huge explosion, and a black guy whose family name is Hawkins.

I know this is not much, but hey, I'm just wondering.

I doubt it ... and certainly hope not, because I haven't watched a single episode.

It did cross my mind. The explosion in New York happened in both series. But both are totally different. Jericho is much more "confined" within the community of Jericho, Colorado. Heroes is much "broader" in that sense. And more interesting. No offense to hardcore Jericho fans. I like Jericho but not as much as I like Heroes!

Yeah, it could totally happen. I mean, NBC and CBS crossover shows with each other ALL THE TIME!

I'm not American, I do not know what the different channels are (and the holdings behind them).

If Dark Horse Comics were doing the comic book adaptations of JERICHO and HEROES, these would be enough of a hook. One can easily see Hiro having travelled to an alternate future where that coup with nuclear weapons occured. In the main Heroes timeline, the coup simply never happened.
If you can have crossovers like Batman/Predator or Superman/Aliens, sure!

As for crossovers between shows on different networks, they do occur. Usually it's a result of a common production company. However, there was a crossover of sorts between Picket Fences on CBS and X-Files on Fox, with a common element of altered cow genetics near Rome, Wisconsin. Although neither Scully nor Mulder appeared on PF, the Rome Sheriff refered to their case to an FBI agent who did appear in both episodes.
