I don't know. Maybe they have a reason for wanting us to know how the City explodes. Maybe the intention is for it to be perfectly clear, and the only way to do that was to offer a really obvious hint. Judging by the story so far, they havent given us any reason to doubt that they know what they are doing, and that us knowing how NYC blows up will only add to the story as it progresses - if that's what they wanted. . .

yeah, but in the first episode they had the truck driving on the dirt road past Claire with the terrorist characters carrying what looked like a giant explosive.......I'm guessing that was also misdirection.....I don't think its the Inferno guy.

I don't think that the radioactive guy in the last episode is related to Nitro. He's more like the radioactive man in marvel thunderbolts btw I hope that they'll use that character in other episode or season common his radioactif.

The first thought that I had when I saw the Radioactive Man, was that Sylar is going to try to kill him and he'll go atomic bomb on his ass. It's also possible that Sylar is able to get his power and Sylar himself goes nuclear, but I would think that that would self-destruct him. As far as 'save the cheerleader, save the world,' I think that it means that the aftermath of the blast is bad. Either a) Sylar survives meaning that he could do it again somewhere else and is able to hold the world hostage or B) it somehow helps the world devolve into war (either a mutants vs. humans type war, or a country vs country type war)

I was just waondering if the explosion that we saw in Ep.II could be the "atomic" guy's death. He said that he didn't know what would happen to him and that could be it. Just something I thought of.

Yah I was totally thinking the same thing when they first discovered him. W/o a doubt the explosion is "Ted" the nuke guy or maybe Sylar eats Ted, takes his powers and starts blowing up cities everywhere!
