First off, I was wondering why certain Heroes' power only emerge later in life while others get theirs younger? For instance, the cop; his mind reading comes as a suprise to him, and hes what, at least 30? Did his powers only just emerge? And yet Claires powers are there, and have been there since she was a baby (thats how she survived the fire, right?). Is it just random when the powers come out? Also, this ones really been bugging me; when the Haitian is standing next to Nathan, Nathan manages to fly off! I read on IMDB FAQ that this was because the Haitian was working for his mother and wanted him to get away, but this leads me to another question; can the Haitian turn his powers on and off like a switch? I thought it was like a perma block, his very presence as a mute cancelling powers out. Also, I suppose there is no real answer to this one, but by god it frustrated me; why is it Mohinder didn't kill Sylar after he knocks him out? Instead he grabs Peter and runs!! All he had to do was finish him! And why does Hiro lose his powers until he gets the sword? Is it just psychological, does he just lose all confidence in himself, or is there actually a reason? I really want to like this show, and I really do at the moment, but as I'm ending the end of season 1 and season 2 is on the horizon the plots become extremely convoluted and hard to follow (although I was watching it with friends so I probably wasnt paying maximum attention, rewatching now in order to get it all straight in my head). Any answers will be appreciated! ![]()

Hi, Shogunate, i'm glad your enjoying heroes I'll try to asswer your questions and hope have don't confuse you further! Matt's power - Some of the power are conncected to the eclipise that occured in the pilot Claire's power - Well, her mother and father have powers so she must have inherited the gene Haitian's power - I can only guess he needs to chennel he's power and concetrate. He wasn't focused on Nathen so he could fly away Mohinder - I think Mohinder didn't kill Sylar becouse he wanted him to suffer and admite he murder Mohinder's father Heroes power - I think he power are linked to his emotions, when he didn't believe in himself, he's powers stopped Hope that helps!

If you're worried about the plot being way too complicated with parts you won't understand for a while, I wouldn't be too sure about enjoying the later seasons of heroes.. it only gets much more complicated as it goes on, it's unbelievable at times

Alot of the Heroes got their powers on the date of the solar eclipse, however not ALL of them did. for example Isaac Mendaz had already painted the future before episode one (the one of the bus he shows simone in the pilot) it is also revealed in the episode "six months ago" that nathan could fly before the eclipse. So although its common for people to get them around the eclipse i suppose certain circumstances could force latent abilities to rise, On the subject of claire her power emerged six months before the pilot after gashing her hand open in a glass cabinet. a couple days later she goes to change the bandage and the wound is gone no marks left. In the episode "company man" HRG reveals to kaito (Hiros dad) that they managed to get claire out of the house fire and they beleive the mothers dead. It is later confirmed that the Hatian can use his ability to block power as he pleases and even select which people in the area to block and which to not. There is no answer to the mohinder question other than he paniced at the sight of peters death and fled with the body before sylar woke or anybody found them. Hiros problem is shearly psycological and it is confirmed by kaito that it is the journey to find the sword that restores his power. Stay tuned into heroes in my opinion it gets better
