Peter and clair and power usingness

In 'I am become death' (S3 E4) Clair catchs peter after sylar exploding. Then we see Clair saying you will experience 100 deaths or something like that and cuts him with a scalpal and he heals. all the while being restrained on a table of some such.
If he healed it means he had his powers.. so why did he allow himself to get cut? why didnt he just go *telekinesis* whoooshh scalpal out of clairs hand. :/ and then nathan entered and clair left and he used telekinesis and teleportation so like .. ? :/

peter doesnt heal and can't leave the room because the haitian is blocking his powers, infact even when the hatian leaves the room and he gets his powers back he still doesn't heal himself.
