| He has the Power Dampener ability and the power to remove memories. He has always been shadowing Noah Bennett (who was high up in the Company before he betrayed them) and Peter's sudden loss of memory is evident that someone has actively taken this from him. The Haitian has used his ability to take away Peter's powers and then removed his memory. ![]() He has been the only one who has been able to incapacitate Sylar. He obviously will show other powers as the show progresses. What these are is fascinating to see. The thing is of course what is he after? That is something I have not guessed yet. |

| I don't disagree with the theory that the Haitian took Peter's memory, it's the only thing that makes sense. I don't know if he has his own agenda though. I think at the time he was working for Mr's Petrelli, and now he is helping HRG to bring the company down. |

| I agree, although you never know in Heroes. There could be someone taking over the Haitians mind which is causing the disease - someone controlling his mind - who also took Peter's abilities and memories. But that's just a wild guess. lol we'll know soon enough.

| also, im pretty sure that exploding and regenerating pretty much every bit of your body could cause some kind of mental blackout. mainly speaking, forgetting things.

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | His memory loss could be explotion related, or it could be the haitian. The necklace he was wearing is like the Haitians but that could be a red hearing. That was an interesting thought about someone taking over his mind. Perhaps that is Matt's dad's powers. We know he was trying to get into Molly's mind, and then she got sick. She's the only other person I think (besides Mohinder's sister) who has gotten sick from the disease. So if the Haitian got it, it stands to reason that he and Moly got it from the same source. I'm not sure what Matt's dad's power is. Perhaps controlling people from afar. Pehaps making them sick breaks down their resistence. Why else would Matt's dad be visiting Molly? So if the Haitian was sick, perhaps Matt's dad used him to make Peter forget? I don't really know, I'm just throwing out theories.

| He blew up, right? And so he regenerated. But regeneration just replaces the cells - it might not replace his memory. If there was little left of his brain, the memories might be wiped up and the replacement cells empty. That's a theory. But I don't think it's the right one, and I don't think the Hatian is right either, because Peter's going to get his memory back, or that's just... stupid. |

| It does say however that peter has amnesia (a tempory loss of memory). Also i believe matts dads power is nightmare induction and manipulation but dreams are brainwaves and as matt can hear brainwaves (ie peoples thoughts) perhaps their powers are the same and will strech to mind control? |

| I really don’t think that Peter was hurt at all by his meltdown. He was just using his power and it would suck if your powers had the potential to kill you. I mean Peter did not look to happy in Isaac’s painting of the exploding man and when Ted was shot by Thompson Teds power release seemed to be causing him pain or (it was the bullet in his shoulder). But neither Ted nor Peter seemed to be destroyed by their power release. Peter just became the exploding man for a bit and then fizzled out and Ted recived no injuries form his little meltdown. |
