| I don't know if anyone has already said this because I haven't been on this site in a really long time but I have a new theory. The painting that Issac painted # 8/8 I have a theory of how that's going to happen. Maybe the guy that Claire likes (the guy who can fly) finds out that Claire's dad is the guy with the Horn Rimmed Glasses and then kills him. Voila there is my theory. Also, maybe Claire's real dad had another kid and that kid is the kid who can fly. Since they both have the same power. That would be disgusting.

| I wondered why West was staring at HRG in the first episode, and now we know. It's kind of like Parkman in season 1. I guess the Haitian can't totally erase your memories - he just buries them. If West keeps hanging around at Claire's house and seeing HRG all the time, he will eventually remember him. I'm not sure who the killer could be right now. I guess it could be Sylar posing as West, now that he has Candace's power (eventually). It could also be someone totally different. The painting showed that he had what looked like a bullet hole in his glasses, so the killer could even just be a normal person with an awesome aim. ![]() |

| i don't get why people think powers are hereditary, claire's mom was pyrokinetic and her dad could fly. she can heal. micah's telekinesis is a product of phasing and strength. the powers are random. west's flying does not mean he's nathan's son. |

This was bugging me, too. So far we haven't seen (known) family members sharing a power. Not even something similar. I.E. Claire and Linderman have similar, though different powers and as far as we know, they aren't blood relatives. Last edited by kent_eh : 10-11-2007 at 08:34 PM. | |

| that we know of... mama petrelli and linderman were pretty buddy buddy back in the day. linderman had a paternal aura about him when he was talking about nathan, not so much with peter though. i'm kidding, i absolutely do not want this to take form as an actual theory. |

| Finally someone brings up the point. Its a minor squable but the random powers really make no sense at all, infact the only ones that remotely make sense are Maya and Alejandro's twin-thing, it would be much cleverer if the characters genes played a part in the powers they recieved. |

| Heredity isn't that cut-n-dried. Ferinstance my dad has black hair, my mom brown. I have red hair, and my brother is blonde. Nikki, DL and Micah makes sense to me. So does the Pirelli clan, Claire, and her bio-mom. They are family, not clones. There is bound to be variation. |

| So your saying the new heroes have some sort of recessive ability-gene which is cropping up? |

| It would be consistent with what we've seen so far. Of course, I'm not a geneticist. Maybe Mohinder will explain it to us at some point. |

| Junior Member | I agree, its ambiguous if its hereditary or "forced genetics"... Claire (Patrelli) was seemingly predetermined to have certain abilities, even though the Patrelli brothers were naive to their own powers. Claire's mom, however, seemed to be familiar with her abilities before the "main staple Heroes" seemed to miraculously discover theirs... Some have marks, others don't. It's all pretty vague at this point... yet redundancy is starting to appear. 3 flying characters, 4 healing characters, multiple psychic characters... obviously some traits overlap... maybe some dominant traits are prevalent throughout the gene pool. I say it's all some World War II experiment gone awry... but maybe that's too 'inside the box'. |
