Fast National ratings for Monday, March 5, 2007.
The last new episode of "Heroes" until April helped NBC overcome another stale performance from "The Black Donnellys" on Monday night.
"Heroes" did an 8.5/13 for NBC, beating CBS' "Two and a Half Men" and "Rules of Engagement" in total viewers, but not in ratings, where CBS had an 8.9/13. FOX was third with "24," while ABC's "Supernanny" had a 6.4/9 for fourth. The CW's repeats of "Girlfriends" and "The Game" were fifth.[/b]

It's good to know that "Heroes" went out last night with a bang, as I knew it would, toppling even CBS's "unbeatable" "Two and a Half Men" in total viewers, but not in ratings (meaning more viewers watched "Heroes" than any other program, but more households were tuned into CBS programming). Regardless, "Heroes" proved its dominance last night and will continue to dominate when it returns April 23, as well as in the years to come.
"Heroes" ain't going nowhere.
But now that the show IS on hiatus, expect "24" to finally have some room to breathe, for the first time all season, no less. For the next several weeks, with "Heroes" no longer part of the competition, "24" will be able to countdown the second half of Day 6 while enjoying a healthy increase in viewership.
The Monday Night Wars will continue in 7 weeks ...
