In January, FOX will premiere the 6th Season for its big hit, "24". The show will air in the same time slot as "Heroes" - Monday at 9:00 PM EST/PST and 8:00 PM CST/MST. Which show will emerge as the ratings winner - "24" or "Heroes"?

Good question. 24 has proven itself for five seasons as a superb show wit ha loyal fanbase. I was not a fan until I watched the whole first season on DVD two(?) Thanksgiving breaks ago. After finishing all five seasons of 24, I moved on to another one of FOX's hits- Prison Break, Also a tremendous show, which airs right before Heroes on FOX. They make for quite the Monday lineup. . .So there are no conflicts between Prison Break and Heroes. What will I do when my third Monday hit comes back. . . . . .TIVO. I will watch Prison Break at 8, and then TIVO either 24 or Heroes while I watch the other. However, if circumstances arise where I cannot catch either of them, and I cannot TIVO both at the same time. . . . . .I guess I'll have to figure that one out.
Finally about the ratings- I myself cannot pick a favorite, but I will venture a guess and say if 24's tenure and loyal fanbase don't take it to the top, Heroes' freshness, originality, and loads of potential will. . . . . .but remember, Prison Break is still out there, and will be competing along with them.

Even though I love Heroes dearly, 24 is still currently my favorite show. I was kinda pissed when I saw that they were gonna be on at the same time. Though it is a tough decision, I'll watch 24 live and record Heroes.

It'll be a huge competition between those two shows. I think with 24's amazing fan base. They might emerge as the top show. But if Heroes could garner more viewers and increase its fan base, then there might be a chance. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thats just pure evil! Not that I watch 24, but Ive heared how good it is, and its pretty stupid putting them both in the same time slot, I have a feeling 24 are going to get the most ratings, but I really hope Heroes does tho

Pure evil indeed. (it's all about adverstising dollars i guess)
24 is going to roll over Heroes, unless Heroes/24 (who are also Neilsen monitored) fans unite to decide to tape 24 and watch Heroes. That might help even out things.

Was never a fan of 24 until last season, when I watched the whole thing...wow!

It'll be rough competition for Heroes...definite underdog here. 24 has 5 seasons worth of fans and backstory with the characters...tough to beat. I think Heroes would stand better competition against Prison Break...maybe change it to an 8pm time slot?

24 will win in the ratings, but is that a bad thing? Heroes will likely go down as a "Cult Classic" in much the same way as Star Trek, Smallville, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Perhaps rarely the top show of its time, but a classic still being talked about/shown many years from now by those that follow this genre of programming.
