Okay, so the show was good. But did these people even attempt to relate the places in the show to the actual cities? I live in Odessa, the closest mountain is over 3 hours away, and its a hill. We don't have anything green but cactus. The only trees are the ones planted by homeowners, not like the big one in the show. I can wrap my arms completely around every tree in this town. Thats not the biggest thing though, a mall in Gardendale? a mall in Gardendale? Gardendale has one store, a quickstop/gas station thats on the outskirts leading back to Odessa. The total population for Gadendale is maybe 70, it's not even listed as a Texas town that they count the population in. The map of Gardendale doesn't have Gardendale on it. We're talking West Texas ****hole, oilfield trash. If you can't rent in the ghetto you go to Gardendale. Friday Night Lights and Three Burials of Melinquades both have actual shots of Odessa. The producers or whoever should research this stuff didn't even have to come here to get an idea about the town. I relize the movie is about fantasy, but they should have made up a town or something. I just felt that I should let everyone know. I would hate for anyone to go out of their way to come here in hopes of seeing ANYTHING similar to what was shown on that show. -j

i wonder where they shoot these scenes then...for sure though, nikki doesn't live in vegas cause there are no homes that look like that in Las Vegas (where i'm from), every home is in a community.

Every scene is shot in LA, just like Alias was shot solely in LA. Alias, of course, went everywhere in the world through the magic of imagination.

I don't care where they shoot it. They could have at least made it east Texas so that there was chance of it looking real. I guess I was just really surprised that after the other movies were shot here it didn't dawn on anybody how obvious it would be. Friday Night Lights got that way because there is nothing here, flat ass land. The only thing to do was football. I can literaly stand by the highway and see downtown Midland, a town 20 miles away. -j

I was kind of thinking of this recently... I've been through Odessa Texas and unless it grew wildly in the past 10 years it wasn't like what they were showing. I think most TV people have to get out of the LA-NYC flyover area and go see the real deal, not relying on a heavy hype design fantasy. The show is mostly filmed in LA and NYC I believe. Some parts were filmed in Tokyo, maybe even India, but they are trying to narrow their areas of filming for budget after the pilot I bet. So Odessa Texas is actually San Bernadino, or Orange County.
