Default To All Sylar Fanboys/girls

Give me GOOD EVIDENCE that PROVES, or at least presents a GOOD CASE, that Sylar is a good character & the be-all-and-end-all of Heroes - rather than the overrated, overused has-been little [d]uck I know he is.

Sylar & Gabriel Gray are one and the same; Sylar is an alias, not a split personality.

And the "hunger" is a bull**** explanation created by the hack writers to excuse away his actions without having the character do anything to earn forgiveness. If there is any aspect of Sylar that can convince me he is a good character, the "hunger" part definately is not one of them.

Every villain has an excuse for why they do what they do. Linderman wanted to save the world by blowing up NY, and Adam wanted to be a hero by releasing a virus. Why is the hunger such a bad reason?

I think Sylar is a good character, because one part of him wants to be good and have a family like in volume 3, and another part of him wants to be bad and be special.

Sylar and Gabriel is not split personality, but they are two very different aspects, and he clearly has some sort of personality disorder.

Have you ever read a comic??

Yes it's real, just like when the others get scared and excited, there powers come through. Sylar's is power, it's like drugs to him. He's "hooked" on getting more powers.

Because that was not the original reason why he became a villain.

In seasons 1 & 2 he was driven to take powers because his mother had drilled into him the desire to be special, to be more than a watchmaker. Any "hunger" was purely psychological.

Now, though, the writers claim that Sylar was forced, against his will, due to his own biology, to kill & steal others' powers. This goes against the fact that Sylar was never shown to be a reluctant killer in the first two seasons; in fact he got pleasure in killing his victims, taking glee in their fear & suffering.

This biological "hunger" also makes no sense due to the fact that during season 2 he had no powers, and therefore he shouldn't have had any hunger, yet he killed people anyway and was obsessed with getting his powers back!

Of course. I read comics on a regular basis when I was a kid. Unfortunately they've become incredibly stupid over the years, and only a handful of current storylines are ever good.

And neo-Silver Age Superman sucks.

"The hunger" is not physical, it's psychological. It doesn't force you to kill against your will, it makes you want to kill.

Also in season 2 Sylar didn't lose his base ability, it was just suppressed by the virus. The only time him lost his power was during the eclipse. When you could see his personality change. He didn't want powers anymore.

So, Peter gaining the urge to kill & cut open heads after discovering he had Sylar's power was just a coincidence then.

Whether lost or only suppressed the result is the same - powers don't work. Using the "lost-and-suppressed-don't-mean-the-same-thing" thing as an excuse to explain away the discrepancy doesn't work.
